Does anyone make a lower caliber 1911 style gun?
The gun needs to have a grip and manual safety, it can be a revolver too.

Thanks

How much lower? Kimber makes a 1911 in 9mm, as does Springfied, STS and Para. They all have both manual and grip safties.

Check out the Springfield Armory EMP comes in 9 and 40. It's a sweet 1911 pistol that was built from the ground up around those calibers rather than converting existing designs towards the 9 and 40. It's a sweet shooter, but costs around 1200.00 bucks.

9mm, 9+1, night sights, 3 mags, crisp trigger, 1200 flawless rounds and hasn't been picky. I could recommend this beauty to you. Pricey though.

Have you tried a 1911 in .45? Recoil isn't bad, more of a push than a snap.
Kimber/Springfield in 9mm is are excellent choices too.

Yep. Like I told my bro-in-law a couple of years ago before he fired a handgun for the first time, handguns don't really have a "kick," per se, it's more of a "muzzle flip." Semantics, sure, but he got the point.

I believe Colt still makes a couple of pisols in .38 Super.
