I have a new to me XD.45 compact tactical.
I traded for this one and so far like it alot. Now I'm looking for holster ideas, the one that came with it is not going to cut it.

I'm thinking OWB for this one, any ideas?

Anyone carry one of these?

I have a .40 4" service. I currently use a Don Hume h721 OT. What I've noticed is that I wish I had a more forward cant to make up for the long grip. Then again, whether it sticks out or not depends on your waist size. Just something to keep in mind.

Western gun leather holsters has strong side slide basket weave holsters. I use one with my XD .40 SC - but with the thickness of the XDs, I like my Bluegrass Hybrid or SuperTuck IWB holsters better OMHO.
Another really nice looking OWB is the Bodyguard here http://www.dmbullardleather.com/ - I'm picking one of these up for my 1911 but I think he can make them for the XD, too.
You'll love your XD - congrats!

I'm going VM II for my XD 45.
I have a couple and love them.
Most of the quality makers on here have a good OWB holster, just find a maker you like and order. Some of the new dual purpose holsters are nice. Check out Pure Kustom

I've spoken with Dave and he's quick to respond and seems very professional. I'll probably end up getting one of his holsters too! But I have a Blackhawk Serpa and like it a lot. It comes with an attatchment for either a paddle or a belt. It has three screws that you use to attach to either so it gives you options. It can be had for around 50 I believe new. I have seen many used at around 35.

Also, Galco makes this great little plastic holster:
Galco holsters; Holsters; Gun holster, pistol holsters, western holsters, shoulder holsters, leather holster and Glock holsters
It's not the best thing out there but it's the best thing for something in the twenty to thirty dollar range. I had one for my XD until I lost it and like it. Kept the pistol in nice and close, but I did have a little belt ride up when drawing if it wasn't placed right around the belt loops (I don't have a gun belt yet). Good luck and enjoy your XD! It's a great pistol.
