Happy New Year!

Kinda on the fence right now purchasing the 396 NG as my first 2010 buy. Currently CC a CA .44 spl in my right front pocket and need to know if the NG 396 in a K- frame size with the bobbed hammer would aslo fit in my pocket. To clear up any concerns, I prefer the .44 spl caliber (Speer 200 GDHP) as my caliber of choice.

To be honest, really eye balling the 629 3 inch comp carry, but can't justify paying the steep ticket for a safe queen. I would want to CC carry the 629, but being a N-frame and almost 40 oz's, that's a bit large for my #1 method of carry (pocket carry).

Any 396 or NG owners who could provide feedback

Yeah, I have viewed that S&W site many times. What I gather is that the NG is just a tad heavier and longer than the CA.

My problem is trying to determine the size of a K frame revolver. All I k ow is that it's S&W's small to medium frame revolver.

The 396 is on the L frame.

Well you asked for the specs. It seems the NG weighs 24.2 Oz. Pretty heavy for pocket carry IMO. For pocket carry you're better off looking at J Frame revolvers.
