Any very recent reviews of Nelson Holsters ( good or bad) that can be posted. I’m not too impressed with them at the moment.
I'm not going to be as nice as others, but I will be truthful. I probably will get pushback, but I'd be morally wrong to knowing keep this information quiet. I'll take the hit... There's a huge elephant in the room.
I can NOT recommend that anyone go with Nelson's Holsters at this time although I will update this post/review if anything changes in the future. Several members are going on 1.5 to 2 years without getting what we ordered. I was given an ETA of one month back in 2021 that he never fulfilled. Since then, he routinely ignores forum PMs and "
@NelsonHolsters" aka mentions (even though he logs in regularly), emails, and phone calls. When he does sporadically pop up for air, I always get a new ETA that also comes and goes. Then I get ignored again until he pops up for air. Rinse and repeat!
I've tried filing a PayPal complaint, but he ignored that too. PayPal dismissed my complaint after a couple of weeks and no word from Mr Nelson because I waited over a year, so I was outside of the statute of limitations for filing a complaint (180 days). I've asked multiple times in email and PM for a refund, but he acts as if he never sees it. Then he pops up again with another reason and ETA.
He has complaints on his Google reviews and Facebook page, and several members on this board are in the same boat as me. They just don't speak out because Mr Nelson has been a beloved member and vendor of the forum for years, he is friends with some Mods and forum members, and he had some rough person issues happening, so he has repeatedly been given the benefit of a doubt. In one thread some members even became protective and snarky in defense of Mr Nelson because some members were complaining about not getting their orders. Some members just happily chalked it up to being a "donation," and then shamed members who dared to complain about not getting their orders. Said "we don't care," but the reality is we did care which is why many of us placed orders to help him in his time of need. I personally knew about his long lead times (up to 6 months or so), and I really didn't want to go that long without a holster for my new carry gun. I did anyway to help Mr Nelson out.
It's allowed to quietly go on and on. He continues to take money for orders, but I know of only one person who has gotten their order in this past getting close to 2 years time. That
allegedly is only because that particular member filed a PayPal dispute within the PayPal 180 day deadline.
That means Mr Nelson allegedly got that particular member who filed the dispute his holster while still having NOT fulfilled orders other members placed several months prior! If he is appropriately 100 or more orders behind as he has admitted to and is still taking more orders, that's at the very least $12,000 to over $20,000+ in unfulfilled orders and counting.
