Just found this forum, can't wait to tear thru it and learn more.

A little bit about me, I am a Staff Seargent in the U.S. Army (Infantry) forced in to the hell that is recruiting right now. Trying to keep up on my war fighting skills. As far as a collection goes it is pretty small right now, but I have a Bilby customized Colt Combat Commander, a Glock 26, and a S&W M59.

I am excited to find a forum of like minded individuals.

Sarge ~ You'll Like This.

And now a prayer for those "thick headed ones" who "Just Don't Get It"

May God Grant Some Common Sense And Some Much Needed Wisdom To Those Ultra~Liberal~Left~Wing Shallow American Citizens Who Still Remain Either Too Dumb Or Too Naive To Fully Understand The Critical And Absolutely Necessary Job That Our United States Military Does To Protect All Of Us Here At Home ~ Our Security ~ Our Safety ~ and Our Freedom.
May Our Brave Men & Women In Uniform Continue To Selflessly Protect These Unique Moronic Americans Even Though They Have "Not A Clue" As To Why They Are Able To Get Out Of A Safe, Warm, Comfortable Bed Every Morning And Live Their Lives Like Total Unappreciative Dingbats All Day Long.

Welcome. Thank you for the priceless freedom I enjoy to tell lousy jokes.

I am a great fan of customized 1911 pistols. However, I have never owned a Commander, or the steel framed Combat Commander.

I must admit, however, that I did own a nickel plated S&W 59. I bought it the year that I also thought disco queens were a shrewd move.

However, my 59 fed, fired and ejected every round. That included handloads made with linotype bullets, FMJs, hollowpoints and the Super Vel ammo. I did not keep computer records of my shooting and reloading in those days, but both and I 'queen' poured thousands of rounds through the thing. She had long slender fingers and found the 2x4 grip of the 59 one of the few that felt good to her.

(When the queen left it seemed prudent to sell off her gun. I decided to use the money to somehow pay tribute to the life we had built together. In that light, I bought a case of disposable drink coasters.)

If you discuss this Commander, please show us some pictures and tell us what you like and what you don't like about the pistol and the customizing. I'm in the market for a bobbed 1911, and I don't know what I want yet.

Again, welcome to the 'B Ward' of our little hospital, if you catch the drift.
