On 11/11 got my 1911a1 Rock Island I ordered a month ago, full size 9m/m. Went to the range yesterday and worked it hard. After about 30 rds of Fed. 115 gr. ball had one failure to lock back with empty mag. Went on to shoot 3 different h.p. bullets both factory and hand loads with no problems. The Fed ammo shot about 2 in. high at 25 yds. and all other ammo shot to p.o.a. The gun ate everything I fed it, different cast bullets of 115, 124 and 147 grs. Thus far I believe this is a good pistol and maybe a good carry gun but I have to shoot it more.

Probably some initial break-in there,,not much to worry about.

I know one of these days I'm gonna have to get a RI, probly a Officer sized in 45, and I'll likely splurge for the Tac model for the improved sights.

Rock Island makes some great stuff. I hope one day I'm a good enough shooter to determine how well a handgun performs at 25yds without a bench rest.
