Yesterday, I traded my Llama XI-A 9mm in on a S&W SD9VE. I couldn't get the Llama reliable enough to trust it and it only held one more round than my Kahr CW9 with the 8 round mag.

Took the SD9VE to the range today and fired 100 rounds without any issues other than the fact that I can't get the sixteenth round into the mag. I chose the SD9VE because many reviews compared the trigger to the Kahr, it has the same manual of arms, and the grip angle is the same as the CW9. The trigger isn't as smooth as a Kahr, but it is similar. I think it will serve me well.

Can't load your mags fully?
Sheesh, what a wimp!

Just kidding, new springs are tight so one of the first things any semi owner needs to purchase is a Maglula UpLULA Universal Pistol Magazine Loader.
Saves so much time and wear and tear on your thumb.
Also, fully load the mags and let em sit 4-5 days. This will help with the new springs.

The SD9VE is a very nice pistol, even with it's heavy trigger. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I have the SD40VE, whic is the same gun in .40 S&W, as my nightstand gun. Mine has been very reliable and fairly accurate (more a fault of the operator than the gun). It did not like Tulammo, however. Otherwise it ran well with everything else.
I trust my family's lives with it (as I do with my other 2 pistols) . I cannot give a better endorsement.

Great budget pistols with a rock solid record of reliability. The trigger leaves a bit to be desired, but most of it can be remedied with a fluff and buff of the trigger parts. It's just right size wise too. Not too big too carry easily, but not too small to get a full grip. Great on the night stand or under a t shirt.
