I applied for a NH non-resident permit (because as a resident of Idaho, I wanted a backup in case of a bureaucratic screwup or other issues - we can carry on non-res even as a resident here). I mailed payment Mar 28. I received the permit earlier today.

For $20, it's damned good insurance if your own state (a) honors NH if you're not a resident or (b) if it gets you a state you don't already have.

It's a simple one page form and a xeroxed copy of your existing permit (doesn't even have to be notarized).

GREAT to see you got that Permit.A Non-Resident permits ALWAYS a good thing to have! .We're pretty FREE up here in the NorthEast. It's called "pistol and Revolver License" Many Ma Residents come to Concord NH and file for it, so they can carry across the State Line. YUP! it only takes about 2 weeks to get one in NH......NO PROBLEMO here !!

What kind of hoops do you have to jump through to get one?
Could you point us in the right direction?
Packing.org has links to the NH state form + page.

Hoops: Get an envelope, stamp, and $20 check or money order. Xerox your carry permit front and back. Print out and fill out the form. Mail. Wait. :)

Nope, no photo on ID, no prints.

They seem to assume if you have another permit, you're golden.

Guys
NH has a thin slips of paper that the permit is typed on.. You need to present a photo copy of you current LTC for them to aprove the Non-resident license...The State Police/Dept of Public Safety here at very good about it. Ya never know when you'll need it when you come to NH lol

That's cool, I may have to get one just to support CCW somewhere else other than here in Arizona.

I have just downloaded the application and filled it out. I'll report on just how long it takes me to receive it. I notice on packing.org that it is good in about 15 other states as well.

rfurtkamp, not to go off topic, but how did your incident turn out? I hope everything worked out well for you.
I'll discuss it as soon as my lawyer gives me the AOK. It'll be at least another week.

New Hampshire Non-Resident Permit

Ok guys here is the story on the New Hampshire Non-Resident Carry Permit.

I filled out and mailed in the application on the 12th of April. Today is the 21st and I just got my permit back from them. It was issued on the 15th. So what can I say? This is the way it should be done by all states.

Download the application from the link at the end of this post. Fill out all the information and include $20 and a copy of your current CCW from your home state. (both front and back).

The New Hampshire Permit is good in 18 other states. You can find which ones on www.packing.org

Here is the link to download the application for New Hampshire.

It is no longer a slip of paper it is now a plastic card simular do a drivers license.

 Wayyy to go Guys!! I KNEW you'd get your permit real quick!!...We in NH may sound like "hicks" but we're pretty keen on gettin things done round here, even when it comes to takin care of fellow shooters and gun admirers. I hope all of you apply for the Permit. It also sends a message to Concord NH, where they process em, that they are doing it the right way.. Who knows.....maybe some of you might want to move here.. LOL...

I figure it helps everybody when you get more than one. Bumps the statistics up and makes the politicians think a little longer before mucking with things. I hear New Hampshire is really nice BUT you also have that white stuff that falls out of the sky. I like a little snow but "loads" of it were for my younger days. Been there, done that in Colorado.
