I recently received my holster from the Ugly Bald Guy and have been wearing it long term for an evaluation.
I ordered the Canute for my S&W 4516. UBG is one of only a handful of makers that make holsters for this gun.
Upon ripping open the parcel I was immediately greeted by that wonderful scent of freshly tooled leather. The holster had been dyed black and had a glittery appearance in the sunlight.
UBH uses very high quality leather, very smooth and supple with a beautiful velvety grain. Some of the best I've ever seen.
I slipped my gun into it and the fit was perfect, nice and snug. I was able to draw with no problem. The holster is precurved to fit your hip.
Workmanship was unsurpassable. The dying was even throughout. The stitching was flawlessly executed, it perfectly followed the outline of the gun without deviation. I ordered mouth reinforcement and this was added on in the same expert fashion.
The holster is very rigid so reholstering is not a problem. Both holster halves are precision cut and matched and edges are burnished with obvious attention to detail.
The belt straps utilize subdued hardware and one way snaps. All in all I found the Canute to be on the same par as anything put out by Del Fatti or Brigade, maybe even better.
