Good Morning from Rockton, Illinois.
I am a 52 year old male, married to Inger since '76. 2 kids, Jason born 1978 and Sofie born 1981. Both kids went in the Air Force 1999 and both got out this year with Staff Sargent Stripes.
I have not owned a gun but have shot a couple of rifles with my Dad in my youth. I am ready to own a pistol, mostly for the home. Rockton is not a high crime area, but I believe that makes it more appealing. I am on the verge of being a multiple gun owner. I have an unnerving feeling about how things are going with the U.S. and the rest of the world.
Sept. 1997 I found out I had Multiple Myeloma a cancer that affects the bone marrow and there is not a cure. Stem cell transplant Feb. 1998 back to work April 1998. I was told the average life expectancy was 3 to 5 years after transplant. I'm still working full time and doing well. No treatments but have to take some pain meds to make it through the work day.
I have been looking on-line at hand gun reviews and I will be reading on this forum on what all of you have to say on hand guns you like and why. I like the idea of having a hand gun on my person but in Illinois it is not legal to carry a concealed gun, so that is one I will struggle with, I am so damn lawful it hurts. That's it for now.
