I expect nothing less from NPR ...
Apparently the facts that the two bombers were Russian Muslims has no effect on NPR. The Left just hates it that
this was NOT the work of some disgruntled NRA, gun toting, right wing extremist. Instead of this being ammunition
for more gun control for the Libs, it has actually become ammunition for gun owners across the U.S.

....we are the first line of defense in the Homeland Security equation. You talk about taking away our Second Amendment
Rights after a Terrorist attack on innocent civilians?? Go ahead and try. Bet there are some Bostonians that sure wish
they had an AR15 at their side during the lockdown yesterday.
Hardly anybody listens to NPR. :dead: And they hate that almost more than they hate patriotic firearm owning Americans.

I work with a Liberal Democrat that quotes NPR like it is carved in stone. He is about as misinformed as anyone I know.

Hitler gets blamed for everything don't ya know................
NPR radio hack blames bombing in Boston on you guessed it !
... implying, the reporter was blaming right-wingers or "gun" fanatics? Untrue, from the statements in the audio.

She reported the claim by "officials" (in the government) that this was being categorized by them as a "domestic extremist attack," and that they say they're leaning that direction because "April tends to be a big month for extremists and right-wing individuals in this country ... Hitler's birthday, Waco, ..."

No blame was being leveled by this reporter or anything else said in that snippet. Uncertain what the larger context and statements were in that news piece, as we heard only the little clip. But in what we heard, there, the reporter was just the messenger of the news, not the "news maker" (ie, the official making the statements she was reporting).

But they deliver the lefty propaganda in such a soothing and pleasant tone.
I've long been a fan of Garrison Keillor, A Prairie Home Companion, knowing full well his liberal bias. I've always been able to set that aside but today's program saw Mr. Keillor launch into a diatribe that just stunned me as I listened. He singled out WY, SD, ND and Montana in a similar fashion as Obama did during his infamous "cling to their guns and religion" manner. Keillor's soliloquy was supposed to be humour but this one didn't come across as such. I'm sure he never even took the time to actually read the anti-gun bills he so stolidly supports while he ridicules those whom oppose the same (and we've actually read the damned things).

I've attended two of his shows - had to travel to see each of them. I quit supporting NPR financially years ago due to the asinine quasi news reporting and the idiotic new age gibberish that has inundated their programming over the last decade or so. I now find myself compelled to pen an email to the Keillor program which will undoubtedly go unnoticed. It will however assuage my head.

Click 'n Clack retire and now this - no more NPR in my reality.

I had a subbordinate officer (a Captain) who would sit in his office and listen to NPR all day. I would talk to him to judge his judgement on a variety of things. One day I realized he was out of touch....... and decided that he was not capable of my, or any sane leader to trust him to lead Marines/Sailors in combat, because his judgement was very impaired. My senior enlisted agreed.

It is very sad, since his grandfather was a very well decorated Marine and veteran of the Pacific Campaign (for all you Jarheads, there is a specific place at Camp Pendelton named for him). Some people just are on some strange plain of existence...................and NPR is the Nirvana for idiots on that same plane.

Needless to say, he failed promotion on the next selection board................... Other's agreed with the Fitness Reports he earned.........................

NPR is the 'Sesame Street' of media to spoon feed 'so called' intelligent adults, and make them comfortable in a very small world of beliefs, and allow them to exist without having to deal with reality.

You know better than that, ccw9mm. Merely reporting the news is an attempt to become the story. Could've let those "officials" slide on by without repeating their "appropriately" sober warnings of right-wing extremists and identifying their season of terror.

Disagree.

What the intent or attempt was depends on the reporter, the larger context of the report (which we're missing, in this case, given that that audio is only a brief snippet, edited).

I'll grant you that the effect of being (or at least strongly appearing) "unwitting" messengers of the political pap that's spewed these days makes it seem the media is heavily in bed with the destroyers, or at the very least failing in their sacred duty to keep a critical eye on the destroyers in order to hold them accountable.

But I think to take what was said in that audio snippet and claim the reporter was attempting to become an active participant in making the news on that subject, I disagree. We simply don't have enough context about the larger discussion and comments made in that piece, to judge. Oh, I don't disagree it's entirely possible, but in this case we just don't know, not based on that ~30sec snippet. What was actually said, there, was simply a clear reporting of what an official was claiming, but the mere reporting of it doesn't make the messenger of the message complicit by definition.

Tax Day, Patriots Day, anniversary od Waco, Hitler's B-day!

It never ends. Bill Ayers at one time tried to blow up an NYPD station, but on a technicality got off (Great country America, was his quote) Now he's a revered College Prof, and BFF the POTUS. I believe we are living George Orwell's 1984. At least when it comes to revising history and the media just reporting what they want (Or what they are being told to). The lame stream media should collectively call themselves "THE MINISTRY OF TRUTH" as they where depicted in "1984".

Just remember George "W" Bush maybe wasn't perfect, the media hated him and everything he did. The media never let Americans not know what they thought of him. With "BARRY" it just one big JONES they have. All i can say is welcome to the New Amerika.... It's still worth fighting for, but i think my Grandkids will probably growing up in a fully blown socialist country (If they are lucky), or some New World Order...Sorry i am standing on my soapbox and i guess i can hear the Black Choppers in the distance !

The OP er could have done this with those "reporters" and I would be posting to something worth while right now. JMHO

Hands down that's my main prob with NPR. Tax payer funded...right there and then is reason enough to avoid that pesky form at the end of the year.
Or that pesky form one has to fill out
when you start a new job.

My other main prob with NPR is they only speak FOR the left. On the rare occasion they do speak of folks like us here it is always in a negative light.

Not to worry folks...when I am elected King..oops I mean Prez y'all can rest assured I will make sweeping changes folks...my first week in office it will be like taking out da trash on Wednesday night. Only there will be a fleet of Waste Management trucks lined up...

I suppose we can all write our Congresspeople & Senators to object to government support of NPR & others like them (why do left wing organizations need government funding?). I did. You see what good resulted from it. Not that I believe there are any black helicopters flying over my house but all of a sudden I've gotten a lot of left wing spam & somehow I know I'm on someone's list. A gun-totin', white, Christian veteran now equals a terrorist.

Wait a minute - I think I hear a drone coming towards me...
