I want to keep my semiauto rifle legal in NYS. It already has a pistol grip, and detachable mag.So, I need to have a fixed stock.

I was told that a collapsible stock, that is glued (or other) permanently, in a fixed position. Is acceptable in NYS. Is this true?

Fixed is fixed. A once collapsible stock that has since been pinned is now fixed. However, there are a lot of fixed stocks to consider. Maybe something like the Ace skeleton stock. Also, if you are looking for a great flash-suppressor/comp that the ATF considers a comp only (and therefore NY legal on you post-ban gun) check out primary weapons systems' comps.

If you separate the upper and lower halves......is it then a rifle? Or just not legal to assemble in it's current configuration? You see what I'm getting at here?
