Obama moves to 'shame' Congress into approving gun control package ....

This is the only thing President Zero can do, quite frankly, because it is all he and his side of the aisle know these days. Basically, they have to bully or guilt people into support for liberal policies. This issue is a good example. If you do not want to pass new gun bans and confiscation laws, then you want children to die or do not care that children died. It just an ad hominem attack on anyone that would disagree with them designed to silence opposition. Same thing if you want to have more accountability in the educational system instead of just blindly pooring more good money after bad, you hate children. Appealing to and manipulating emotions is their only real play and unfortunately, they are good at it.

Our challenge as 2A supporters is to educate and make comfortable those who do not necessarily know what they think about the 2nd Amendment and guns. We all know people like this, they generally support the concepts of the Constitution, but are also susceptible to the immediate wave of emotion when awful news breaks. They do not fully understand the principles behind the Constitution, but want to feel compassionate and support doing "something" because in their mind, we must be able to do something. They think this because they never really thought about all the issues in any real depth. It is not anything sinister, just naive.

We need to gently educate these folks that ideas like banning guns or enacting all sorts of restrictions is just "magical" thinking. The gun genie is out of the bottle. The knowledge exists and as long as there are human beings bent on gaining any advantage they can to further they own desires and self satisfaction, there will be humans obtaining guns to intimidate and dominate defenseless humans. It's simple criminal psychology, where in the criminal's mind, they are always right and should always get what they want, regardless of any "law". Nuclear weapons are the same way. President Zero wants to cut our arsenal to zero, and is Iran or North Korea following our lead? Obviously not, because like the gun genie, the nuke genie is out and the knowledge exists. Hopefully, this helps illustrate the ridiculous nature of the naive "magical" thinking. To use a cliche, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. In this case, if it sounds too easy to solve, it probably is not solving the problem.

It's a 24/7/365 campaign now and the democrats do not care if they are right, factually correct, or even know anything about what they are legislating. See NY making the police's magazines illegal, CO advising women to pee on their rapist, Biden's shotgun advice that will get you arrested, not once, but twice, even after he was exposed on the first one, WI bill to ban hollow point ammo even for hunting. Even now, exposed as not knowing what they are talking about, they push forward because they don't care, this is a matter of faith for them. It is Pavlovian, we need to adapt and get those without a strong position on 2A, to think beyond the emotion.
