My primary weapon spends 99% of it's time in a IWB holster. Even when I OC I just tuck my shirt. Not a problem in VA.

I don't but I could. I just keep it a secret. I have a CWP and just rather leave it as such. That's just me..

If I'm going to OC I go with the Serpa holster. If I CC then I go OWB beltslide or IWB supertuck. I could see an issue with OC vs CC with a IWB holster in NC. A little too much discretion to give the LEO in determining which you are doing. I would rather go all or nothing.

IMO the problem with IWB OC is there is no level 3 retention.
My weapon fits snugly in the holster, and with it pulled in close to the body, no one is going to simply grab it and draw it from the holster. They will be eating my elbow before they ever have a chance to get it out.

Why level 3? Isn't that a bit much? Just a thumb break (Level I) would seem fine...if you like that kind of thing. Curious...

Interesting. I may have to have a buddy try to remove mine when IWB/OC. My experience is that with the forward cant, it has to move in a very specific direction (up and forward) otherwise it gets bound up. It would seem that a natural motion to grab from behind will be up and back. I'm likely to get a wedgie.

Occassionally...when I have to (i.e. not planning on going to a restaurant, but go with a group anyway)

Most of the time when I cross over into NV (where I can't CC), I just do the VA tuck and I'm set. When I cross back into CA, untuck and viola! I'm concealed again.

I do prefer my Blackhawk Serpa for extended OC.

nope i think it looks to gangster like and more people would freak..... OC blackhawk serpa
If a person is going to freak, it will happen whether the gun is OWB or IWB. I open carry with a leather IWB with a thumb break retention strap. If the particular pair of pants is too tight in the waist, I open carry with an OWB kydex paddle without retention. Nobody has ever freaked.

I do it every time I go to a restaurant.. I carry 100% of the time in a supertuck and just pop the shirt behind the grip if I decide to go eat..
i'm a bit confused...is there a purpose for gong oc when you are at a resaurant?...afraid theyre gonna spit in your food?...

is there a rule that says a gun has to be grabbed from the rear?...have your friend rush you and take it from the front...he may even be able to pin your arm back while he does it and throw an elbow at you...dont assume everyhting happens like in the sd videos...

In VA if the restaurant or bar has a ABC license, you are not allowed to concealed carry but can open carry.

If they don't have an abc license, they can't serve alcohol and you can concealed carry.
