Changing up from P365 to Shield Plus, for a couple reasons. 1) P365 doesn't have manual safety and I think I've reached the conclusion that I just feel more confident with one. I know the debate (which is why I decided to try the safetyless P365 a couple years ago) but have just realized that every reholster, no matter how deliberate and careful I am, I'm always uptight about it. Shield Plus with safety just gives me that bit of extra confidence. I also kinda feel like I've just generally lost confidence/respect for SIG generally. P320 I do feel there is an issue there. I know the P365s really have been solid, so probably just a mental thing with me, but they've gone downhill in my eye. Its a shame because P365 itself is brilliant and still noticably more compact than the Shield Plus.

Anyway.... my question.

I'm sick of trying holsters. I'm not anywhere near where most folks are when it comes to trying all kinds of different brands and such. But I frankly have never found anything that I'd consider "comfortable". I have a Kusiak for the P365 but it still seems to have hotspots or whatever.

I like to wear around 3:00-4:00. No interest in appendix.

Looking at Phlster Skeleton (rounded edges, claw, single clip), the Henry Holsters Flint (2 loops or DCC, has a "wedge" on the body-side, claw/wing, adjustable cant) and the Tenicor Certum3 ("camming bar"... not exactly a claw but similar purpose, snap loops or DCC, ride-height and 30 degrees cant adjustable).

Just looking for any comparison. I think the Phlster is out... the Pro is probably more comparable to the Flint and Certum but they don't make it for the Shield Plus.

So hard to know and so pricey you hate wasting your money but hoping the folks here might have some inputs. Never tried a claw/camming bar so I'm not even sure if those are of any benefit, particularly for 3-4:00 carry. Perhaps the Henry body-side wedge will be. My issue with most holsters so far is the barrel end area seems to like to dig into my hip-bone. So hoping something that spreads out a bit more would be beneficial.

Tenicor seems to get rave reviews but does not have any body-side wedge it appears.

I THINK a bit higher ride-height is better for me. Fits into my body pockets a bit better (the curved in area above the hips) and doesn't seem to put as much of the barrel into my hip bone. But even then you just never know if you simply haven't found the right holster yet or if I really need to just be looking at extreme high ride holsters or what. I'll have to double check ride height adjustment on all of these as well.

The P365 is available with a safety if you so choose and so is the P320. The only issue with them is the user, they are both solid choices. However, the nice thing is there are lots of choices so everyone gets to choose what they prefer. Same goes for holsters. I have tried many, now I carry the P365 and the P320 with a Versacarry V-Slide (OWB) Hybrid holster. Super comfortable, draws nicely.

Can't help you a whole lot, my carrys do not have safeties, and all I use are inexpensive OWB Kydex(used to use IWB leather holsters from Tagua and a local maker down in Ohio who made a damn good one for my M&P)

A couple things here from a Tenicor fan….

1. the Velo4 makes carrying my G26.5 easy and effortless. their built in wedge and camming bar really do work and printing is absolutely minimized because the grip is pressed against my body. I am also using the closed loops and not the hard metal clips.
2. Tenicor has a section of their website called Blemicor. You can score a holster for 30-40% off and I cannot detect any difference between the Blem velo and the new velo

good luck 👍🏽

do you carry the Velo AIWB? I think that is listed as specifically for AIWB. The Certum is listed as AIWB and IWB

3 - 4 o'clock? I suggest a dedicated IWB holster instead of a dual-purpose AIWB/IWB holster.

A few years ago I got a JM Custom Kydex IWB3 holster with 20-degree cant, 1.5" split loops, mid length sweat guard, red dot optic. It has been very comfortable for me carrying a G19 at 3-4 o'clock. After a few minutes I don't even know I'm wearing it.

I looked at the JM as well. I will check out again. I’m hoping for adjustability as I’m still trying to find the ideal ride height and cant for me. But thanks for bringing up. I’d forgot about them.

If the lack of a manual safety is your main concern, just know you can install a manual safety on your P365's FCU. The"kit" comes with the safety lever, detent spring and detent for $40-$50. You can then either trim your grip module where the mold marks for the safety are or buy a new grip module with the cut outs for around $40.

P365 Manual Safety

As for holsters, I prefer lower riding holsters and use a RM Low Rider for my P365 and my Glock 26. For Glock 19 size pistols I have been using the T-Rex Sidecar. It is the first higher riding holster I have been able to wear comfortably.

I added a safety to one of my 365's for about $50. You can then but a new grip frame for the safety or pick up a jig. My first one I cut without a jig and it shows, but it still works. I usually carry SS hip but this particular gun I set up to go in a pocket or AIWB. Never be in a hurry to holster.

Body type definitely plays a role in what holster works best for you. We had this conversation at work. On of my co workers is about 1" shorter than me but is tall and thin, he like low riding holsters, I am husky and like high rise holsters. We noted that our arm position when prepped for a draw is the exact same.

Jerome10 You have a problems that only you can figure out like starting with the handgun . P365 has had manual thumb safetys for a few years as my wife has a P365xl with thumb safety for 3 years but since shes also a 1911 gal she had me add a wilson grip module to it .

Holsters . It far easier to pick a carry handgun than a holster and for me I wear a Hybrid design iwb with leather back half for the last 19 years while my wife wears a hybrid holster with man made material back half . Both carried at 3:00 and both are adjustable for carry angle and height but a number of other hybrids are too . It's a trial & error sort of thing that only YOU can figure out . OH I hate kydex only holsters on my side .
