Changing up from P365 to Shield Plus, for a couple reasons. 1) P365 doesn't have manual safety and I think I've reached the conclusion that I just feel more confident with one. I know the debate (which is why I decided to try the safetyless P365 a couple years ago) but have just realized that every reholster, no matter how deliberate and careful I am, I'm always uptight about it. Shield Plus with safety just gives me that bit of extra confidence. I also kinda feel like I've just generally lost confidence/respect for SIG generally. P320 I do feel there is an issue there. I know the P365s really have been solid, so probably just a mental thing with me, but they've gone downhill in my eye. Its a shame because P365 itself is brilliant and still noticably more compact than the Shield Plus.
Anyway.... my question.
I'm sick of trying holsters. I'm not anywhere near where most folks are when it comes to trying all kinds of different brands and such. But I frankly have never found anything that I'd consider "comfortable". I have a Kusiak for the P365 but it still seems to have hotspots or whatever.
I like to wear around 3:00-4:00. No interest in appendix.
Looking at Phlster Skeleton (rounded edges, claw, single clip), the Henry Holsters Flint (2 loops or DCC, has a "wedge" on the body-side, claw/wing, adjustable cant) and the Tenicor Certum3 ("camming bar"... not exactly a claw but similar purpose, snap loops or DCC, ride-height and 30 degrees cant adjustable).
Just looking for any comparison. I think the Phlster is out... the Pro is probably more comparable to the Flint and Certum but they don't make it for the Shield Plus.
So hard to know and so pricey you hate wasting your money but hoping the folks here might have some inputs. Never tried a claw/camming bar so I'm not even sure if those are of any benefit, particularly for 3-4:00 carry. Perhaps the Henry body-side wedge will be. My issue with most holsters so far is the barrel end area seems to like to dig into my hip-bone. So hoping something that spreads out a bit more would be beneficial.
Tenicor seems to get rave reviews but does not have any body-side wedge it appears.
I THINK a bit higher ride-height is better for me. Fits into my body pockets a bit better (the curved in area above the hips) and doesn't seem to put as much of the barrel into my hip bone. But even then you just never know if you simply haven't found the right holster yet or if I really need to just be looking at extreme high ride holsters or what. I'll have to double check ride height adjustment on all of these as well.
