Picked up a M&P

Picked up a very lightly used M&P 40 VTAC last night. Has a test fire date of 1-31-2013 and the VTAC sights have a 2013 date as well. If it shoots as good as it feels in my hand then I'll be really happy. I plan to use it as a truck and night stand pistol. I hope to get out this weekend and gets some rounds through it.

I had a .40c for several years up until I traded it in on a Kimber recently. I think you'll be very happy with it.
I absolutely love my M&P .357 Sig....congrats, its a great gun
Congrats! you're going to enjoy it.

I have that pistola in 9mm. I love it.
Thanks for the replies. I actually like the trigger in this model a little better than the trigger in my Shield. The take up has just a little bit of a gritty feel but it breaks lighter and feels to have less over travel. A couple people have told me the grittiness will smooth out over time.
Congratulations, i think you'll be very happy. I EDC a M&P9C and love mine.
Isn't that the model where the sights have both tritium inserts as well as fiber optic?

Is so...I thought those were pretty cool when I looked at them. Nice gun!
M&P was my first pistol purchase.. I love that thing! congrats man

Great gun only thing i dont like is the mag safety. if you carry it and drop the mag by accident you cant even fire that one you have in the chamber. But over all excellent gun.
I like, american.made, made the M&P my first gun purchase (9mm) and absolutely dig it! Enjoy and have fun shooting the snot out of it!

some have this feature. others don't. this particular pistol does not have it.

Not true on this model as it will fire without a magazine inserted. S&W even feels the need to stamp or engrave a warning on the slide stating the pistol is "capable of firing without a magazine."

It does have the Viking Tactical sights. I'm not sold on them yet but they do appear to work as advertised. At first glance I was concerned they might be too busy but I think I will adjust to the.
Nice! I use my M&P40 for the exact same purposes as you plan to. With the Arredondo or Taylor Freelance mag extensions you can have as much as 25+1 capacity in .40.
Congratulations. I really like my M&P 9c
Congrats on the purchase. I have the 9c and they kinda grow on ya after a while.
Congrats - they do grow on you. Owner of a 45c and a 9c.
FIL has a M&P 40 and so far he loves it. It is his first hand gun ever and he was surprised with how comfortable he felt with it.
