My wife and I went up to the forest to pick up my last trail cam before the hunt starts next Saturday. This cam was located on a very large wallow that obviously a lot of folks have found. It's a half mile hike into the woods but there were two other cams that I saw there today, and two different ones when I set the cam.

This wallow is probably at least 100 feet long and about 25 feet wide. It backs up to a wall of volcanic boulders.

Nice herd of cow elk. I have a cow tag.

Nice spike elk. There aren't too many of these guys, but I have a tag for this.

I can take a bull elk during archery season, but not in the same zone where I have my buck tag. The odds of me connecting with one of these guys is pretty slim.

I don't think this is the same bull as in the shot above. His rack is pretty narrow.

Looks like you've got a better chance than last year, G26Raven. Good luck!
