All of the talk about the expanded background checks at gun shows and the online sales has brought one big question to my mind. According to everything that I know you cant buy a firearm online without shipping it to an FFL dealer locally and passing a background check from that particular store of your choice, because it is still illegal to ship a firearm to a non licensed party.

Anti's included "internet sales" in their propoganda to scare more citizens. You are correct. The situation that the anti's were using was where someone used the internet to arrange a face-to-face private sale either through email, craig's list or an internet board posting.

That's the way it's always worked for me. Seller to FFL who runs BGC.

The anti gun people want the uninformed to believe that all guns purchased on the internet are done without a background check being performed...this is a complete lie designed to instill fear in the sheeple.

They want to ban gun owners from using the internet to locate potential buyers. In other words, they want to take away the gun owner's most effective means to inform the masses that he would like to sell some of his personal property via a private sale.

You can use the internet to find a buyer for your:

Car
House
Tools
Jewelry
Cats
Dogs
Electronics
DVDs
Video Games
Video Game Consols
Porn
Furniture
Knives
Bats
Hammers
Axes
Icepicks
Bows & Arrows
Machetes
Razors
Scissors
Rope
Rock Collection
Clubs
Metal Pipes
Bricks
Andiron
Candlestick
Wrench

But they believe you shouldn't be permitted to use the internet to inform people that you have a firearm for sale.
