Sorry..but these LE people who get their 15 mins of fame by claiming they will not enforce some of the new gun laws is nothing
more than a knee jerk feel good reaction we accuse the anti 2A people of. While I am 100% pro 2A, one thing I am not is a hypocrite.

These cops are hypocrites seeking the momentary limelight.
Their words may be commendable; but they lack substance; not unlike politicians.

I really wonder how many of these are willing to put their jobs and pensions on the line when or if push comes to shove?

It is one thing to (know) a law by it's structure is un-enforceable and quite another thing to refuse to "do your sworn duty".

The (Sheriff) is a elected position by the people. In contrast, city & state cops are not elected.
The sheriff, if he/she loses the election, simply drops back to the position of deputy or simply leaves the dept for some other job.

We now live in a police state as evidenced by what we see & read every day. I used to say we are approaching a police state..now I maintain it has arrived.

Feeling powerless, LE turn their power upon those who will comply; and it is NOT the criminal.
Seasoned criminals generally know their rights better than the average law abiding citizen.

When was the last time you saw a speed trap set up in the poorest of neighborhoods?
Ever see a sobriety check point set up down the road from a FOP or Moose lodge meeting?
These same cops/sheriff's who spout refusal to enforce seem unable to apply the law equally; rather they march where the money/politicians tell them.

"To protect & serve" looks great on the side of a patrol car; but in reality , the police have no, none, zero obligation to protect the citizenry.

Many years ago we were taught to trust Mr. Policeman.

Given the current political climate, the mentality of why someone wants to be a cop and the over reaching laws; I have no trust or faith in law enforcement.
This is no doubt a prime reason I carry a gun; because a cop is too heavy to carry.

Enforcement? LE does not enforce anything! They react to a incident after the fact.

Please, Mr. TV Cop, stop the hypocrisy...if you need your 15 mins of fame, try elsewhere.

I can hear the liberal far left socialist whacko's now.."hey, how did this right wing conservative infiltrate our Police Dept?"

Maybe we should let the people vote the sheriff in or out..and we all know too well how elections work.

History lesson: The Soviet Union fearing unrest in the people would often (plant) rabble rousers within certain groups to stir up a short but intense firestorm.
The power structure in the Soviet Union fully realized it is far easier to control a fire you yourself started rather than a real uncontrolled fire.

Let those with an ear to hear; hear.

While I can understand your dis-trust, I do not buy into it. Who are you or I to questioned someones patriotism, just because they are LE we do not trust them. First and foremost they are citizens, when they act like citizens we should stand behind and support them. We cannot judge all LE based on a few high profile mistakes. I will not be party to that....

LE already enforces blatantly unconstitutional, wildly unpopular laws...

They violate our civil rights daily, in the name of the various "wars" on (insert evil catch phrase here) they love to pretend they are warriors in, the only ones standing between a terrified cowering populace and some perceived evil boogie man...

When the guns bans are passed, and yes... at some point they will... the cops will enforce them too...

For two reasons...

First the power of the paycheck... cops will be fired for failing to "do their jobs".

Two, 98% of the cops like the power and special privileges over the general public their job "grants" them.

Make no mistake, when the laws are passed, they WILL enforce them... QED

Thats your right to do so, but when the laws are passed and signed into force, these internet statements made by a cop on a gun form will fly right out the window...

They will be told to enforce the law, do their jobs or be fired...

The power of the paycheck will take over from that point on.

I don't know what police are thinking or their intentions, like some that seems to think they do.I have no crystal ball.I take what they say with a grain of salt, like this not enforcing gun bans. They very well could mean what they say,and maybe they don't.Until i know, what they will do and wont do,i'm not going to criticize or judge them for simply saying how they feel.

You have to look beyond emotion on this subject. You also have to understand that the pay is not that good, and most of the officers do it because of the reward of helping others. So your statement about the pay check having power is off base.

Laws are passed by politicians not the PD. I will give you that they are the arm of the law, but a vast majority are not like the OP described. If a front man on a SWAT team is making 13.00 an hour I am sure that there is no power in that pay check. We have to look further past the end of our own nose to make educated statements about LE and the nature of LE. I am not slamming you for your opinion.

Law abiding citizens will obey the law.
We must repeal bad laws and those who make them, there is no other good solution to gun control or any other bad law.
Just be sure to NOT forget who did what when you go to vote or give to the support of those running for office.

There's certainly no other civil, bloodless alternative.

Who are you or I to questioned someones patriotism, just because they are LE we do not trust them.
Answer: An American Citizen.

We question the patriotism of the anti 2A people everyday.
We question the patriotism of the President.
We question the patriotism of those that investigated Newtown, Ct.
We question the patriotism of Bloomburg, Cuomo..and the list grows.

We patriots are questioned constantly by our so called elected officials concerning (our) patriotism!

So am I to believe LE is immune from being questioned about their patriotism/Loyalty/Motives?

I'm certain few questioned the Brown Shirts or the SS in 1939 Germany. BTW; the SS if you did not know grew out of a rather small "para-military" group to a extremely powerful mechanism that "enforced" unconstitutional laws. Sound familiar?

McCarthy was right!

I don't think I would want to live in a world with no Law enforcement...just sayin
No one is saying we want anarchy..but are you willing to live in a world where the laws of man violate God given laws?
Are you willing to live in a world where life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness has been stricken by men who lack a moral compass?

The threshold of God given rights and man made laws no longer coexist in peace. That threshold has been replaced by a very wide and dangerous chasm.

You can "live" in this current state as well as the coming state under such rule of law just as most of Eastern Europe lived, France etc...

I for one am unwilling to give up one more single piece of my liberty because some *new* law has been written.

I don't know, although I do understand why people do not trust many these days, I disagree with the OP. I'm friends with many LEOs (although I'm not a LEO myself) who feel strongly against these laws, especially here in Colorado. As many LEOs say, they swore an oath to the United States Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land. I know it's hard for many to understand, but there really are some good police out there who truly are there to protect and serve..

We've been getting a lot
of that the last few days; folks advocating unlawful acts.
"A lot"?
I agree, we are seeing it.
Kinda' telling isn't it?

Unlawful laws are not to be obeyed, no more than a soldier being asked to enforce a law they know is immoral.

"It's clear, under military law, that military members can be held accountable for crimes committed under the guise of "obeying orders," and there is no requirement to obey orders which are unlawful. "
We are now living in dangerous times.
