That's pretty cool & something I hadn't seen before.......

Do I see hints of a 1911 in the design?

I wonder why the barrel is offset low?

I agree. The grips look 1911ish, although the grip angle is very different. The trigger also looks like it was pulled from a 1911. Even the rear sight could be an enlarged 1911 rear.

Wow, a belt fed submachine gun. :shocked:

(read the description on the case if you haven't yet.)

Amazing to see how it progressed into what we know the Thompson as today. I wonder when the last time (if ever) it was test fired?

After reading the plaque I did a search for Warner & Swasey Factory, surprisingly they were primarily telescope manufacturers.
