Well today I pulled the trigger so to speak on the M&P 40C. I found a good deal and bought one finally, no safety.

A big thanks to all who have followed my threads and answered my many questions and requests for opinions.

It will probably be 2 weeks before I can get to the range with it. Should a new gun be cleaned before using it?

Congrats on the new pistol... :hand10:

Yes, definitely give it a good cleaning and oil job. I'd even suggest racking the slide several times just as a form of break in. :bier:

I too am looking for a 40 and this one has my eye!
Harley- I did a LOT of research on here and other threads. Then went to a range in Ft. Lauderdale and rented about 6 or 7 on the top of my list. Narrowed it down to this and the Glorck 27. Went back again and rented them both at the same time. Shot them alternating every 5 rounds. Used one target per 5 rounds to see which I did better with. Also took notice of recoil, trigger feel and other things. Then made my decision. All I can tell you is it was the best for me at this time.
