PX4 Subcompact New winter carry?

I found a lnib Beretta PX4 sc at a pawn shop that I frequent. The price seemed right ($399) and these are hard to find in my neck of the woods. I picked it up today and immediately took it home to clean and inspect it. It was very dry and there wasn't a speck of any residue or any other sign of use. This little gun seems very solid and well made. I think that it will be sporting the stealth safety levers soon that make it a decocker only pistol. If all goes well with reliability it may enter my rotation as a winter carry. I have a full size C action Storm that does home defense duty and it has been a great addition to my little collection. One can only hope that the little brother works out as well as the full size Storm.

Congrats! Nice find.

I'm sure it will serve you well. Pics or it never happened.😁

I'm not a big fan of switching carry based on the season. I prefer to select a weapon and stick to it. Not saying you can't have multiple carry guns - I do, but the method of carry stays the same unless I am required to pursue deep concealment based on work conditions. And for the deep concealment, I again rely on 2 guns carried the same way because at this point in life I don't have the time to train effectively with too many options.

With this said, it sounds like you got a good deal and i hope it makes for a good carry gun! Congrats!

It does better. Good buy, you'll find out what I mean and will enjoy it. Conceals easily as well. Just a hint, but PX4-SC also fits a lot of the XD-SC holsters well. Good quality gun , and very accurate and reliable.

Thanks Snicker. I've been looking for one for awhile. They are as rare as hen's teeth around here.
I'm actually considering a sub compact Px4 for conceal carry if the big brother full size don't work out in an IWB holster.

Not to hijack the thread but, does anybody know if there's really any noticeable difference in how the sub compact shoots between the 40 and the 9? I really don't think the recoil will be bad in the 40 from the lack of the revolving barrel that the full size and the compact have but, since I've never shot one, I don't know. I'd be ok with the 9mm version but if at all possible, I'd like it to be the 40 S&W version since that's what my big one is. Plus, I like that the full size mags will work in it too, for, you know, just in case!!...lol.

I don't know about the difference in recoil between the 40 and the 9. I took the little Storm 9mm subcompact out today and was very happy with it's performance. The recoil was minimal and the little gun is very accurate. I also took a new to me 92fs along for it's maiden voyage. It too was 100%. I was not surprised by anything about the 92fs because I had owned one previously. It did make me wonder why I got rid of my first one though.

I carry the sub compact every day. Never had any problems with it. Good find at a good price! Hope you enjoy it!
Sounds like a great find! By the way, how's the trigger reach for you on this model?
It fits my medium sized hands quite well. The trigger guard is large enough for gloves. I also appreciate the memory grooves on the frame. They make a nice resting spot for the trigger finger while not shooting.

Love my SC PX4... It is my winter carry as well... I too have a full size in the house... I have a Black Arch Ace and it is really good fit for me.

I'm planning on getting one some day considering my full size px4 won't work for conceal carry.

Franco, do you conceal carry yours in a inside the waistband holster? That's what I'm planning to do with mine whenever I get one.
