Not going to happen. He will get another pick. It will be a woman, which will make it extremely difficult to fabricate yet another Rape allegation. Most likely they will claim she had sex w/ an underage person. It will not matter. She will be Confirmed.

Still not tired of winning!

I fear that Trump will unfortunately also be replacing Justice Thomas at some point during his second term. IMO, he is the best justice on the SC and a great Originalist American. He is looking very old lately.

More likely than that they will claim that her religion has taken over her ability to think and act fairly! Trump has already signaled his next pick.DR

More likely a claim will be made that she and Trump had a relationship and she will now be his puppet.....

One thing I am growing extremely weary of is the complete lack of very expensive libel lawsuits against those who think they can just say anything,,,mostly complete LIES. The mindless crowd nods in affirmation. After all, it must be true...they heard it said.

Thomas is only 71, although there have been rumors he is considering retiring. Breyer is the next oldest after RBG at 81. He is above average age of retirement for justices in recent times, which is just under 79.

If the republicans grow at least half a spine, they will have learned from last time. They have 53 seats in the senate. Any accusations made by the left is just noise. They don’t even need all the republicans this time. There is absolutely no reason why Trump should consider them when picking his nominee.

Did you know, that Congressmen are exempt from prosecution for what they do "In" congress? That's why trump could not charge Adam Schif for lying about what was on his call .

Well, Nick Sandman, the "smirking MAGA hat kid" seems to be gathering momentum in his multi million dollar lawsuits against several news outlets. Alas, his suits against several politicians who also defamed him were dismissed.

That is not exactly true. First, the post you reacted to was about lawsuits, not criminal charges. It is very difficult to sue a member of Congress, but technically possible. If the AG determines that the lawmaker was acting within his duties as an elected official, then the suit becomes "Plaintiff vs. the US" rather than "Plaintiff vs. Lawmaker." However, then either the plaintiff, the AG or both can bring charges against the lawmaker with the Congressional IG.

In Schiff's case, because this is a public, political matter, the normal rules of defamation do not apply. He (or the US) could only be sued if he showed "reckless disregard for the truth." That would mean he stated a fact, not just implied something, that was defamatory, and he knew for sure that the fact was completely untrue. Those are hard hurdles to get over in court, so it rarely happens.

As to criminal charges, Schiff lying is not a crime, it is unfortunately free speech. It would only be a crime if he were under oath. However, if he is found to have misused classified information, he can be charged with a crime. Generally, LE will not arrest a Congressman while Congress is in session, but he can still be charged, subpoenaed. etc.

All this is rare, to be sure. But it is technically possible. It is a myth that Congressman are completely above the law, but in practice, they wind up being mostly above the law.

Here is an interesting wrinkle, though. If the House votes to impeach. Trump says he does not want an immediate Senate vote to "no true bill" ending the whole thing. He wants a full hearing and trial. Schiff is one of the witness that will almost certainly be subpoenaed and then he would be under oath. If he were asked straight out if he lied, he would either have to admit that, or possibly be charged with Lying to Congress, which is a crime. It is rarely prosecuted, but it has happened to members of the Trump administration, so turnabout may prove to be fair play with Schiff.

He is not that old by the numbers, but he has aged quite a bit the last couple years. I hope that I am wrong and he continues to enjoy good health for years to come. Thomas would be the hardest to replace. For some reason finding a Constitutionalist that simply follows our founding documents, and does not allow himself to be influenced by the swamp and mainstream media is near impossible. A cuck like Roberts can be replaced easily.

This thread is really kind of pushing the envelope with regard to general politics straying away from our main forum focus.

I won't close it now but, a forum Moderator may elect to do that at some future point.

Much depends on subsequent posts and if it does eventually get closed...that will likely be the reason why.

Peace Out.
