I have received four e-mails with the subject "Failed Login Notification on DefensiveCarry Concealed Carry Forum" in the last two days. They all reference the IP address 95.215.1.3, which is coming from Russia. I changed my password to one that is more secure, but is this something that others are seeing as well? Is there anything that can or should be done (by myself, or the forum management)?

Not sure why this would be happening unless someone was trying to use your account. Nobody else has reported it but would be very interested in hearing if anyone else are getting these messages.

A common rule of thumb for passwords, and I would very much recommend this for you in particular, is that you make your password at least 8 characters, at least one of which is a number. It is also more secure to make none of the characters actually spell out an actual word. Something like "98h672zx" is considerably more difficult for someone to solve than "barnyard5". Keep me informed regarding any further messages you might receive after changing your password.....

That is a good recommendation regarding the password, and I did something along those lines when I changed mine. I will let you know if I receive any more of these warnings. I almost hope others are getting this too, because the alternative is that I'm being singled out for some reason! :gah:

I'm hoping I don't get any other reports because that may mean a bigger effort by them. I doubt that you were singled out other than being the one person they selected. Luck of the draw, in reverse....
