Has this happened to anyone else ? the rear white dot fell out of the sight. Will S&W require the entire pistol be sent back for a fix ? Maybe I should just buy some night sights.......?

Have had that happen on most of my guns at one time or another. I bought a small bottle of white acrylic paint in the craft section at WalMart. Clean the area with alcohol then using a toothpick, place a small drop of paint in the hole.

All in the same week, the front sight dot fell out of my Shield, my dads Shield and his SR9... put white house paint on all of them.

Happened on my front sight. I bought some Testers in red and white. I tried the red first but didn't like it so I went with white. But the front sight is now a light shade of pink. Cowboy up and be decisive. Now is your moment to be clear of vision. Otherwise you may end up with pink sights. Just sayin......

Another thing that works great is a white crayon.

The same thing happened to me with my front sight. I called S&W and they told me to apply Testors paint with a toothpick as others have described above.

Just last week I noticed the white dot missing out of my Shields front sight. What can I say...after reading several reports of the same, I wasn't surprised.

I can honestly say I've never had this happen to me before. I have shot the crap out of some Sigs, Beretta's, and Glocks to boot. I now have a Shield in 9mm and hope it does not become the first pistol to do this.

Call S&W customer service. I had the front sight fall out of a Walther (S&W handles Walther service) and was lost. Customer service sent me a new sight free of charge, no questions asked other than my name and mailing address.

Yeah, pretty common on M&Ps...this question seems to pop up every couple of weeks across various forums. Personally I've used a little Glow-On paint (sponsor here) and it looks just fine in the day, along with a little glowy-ness at night in case it happens to help.

If that ever happens to my $140.00 Trijicon HD sights I just ordered, if and when they ever arrive, I'm going to jump up and down and throw a fit... Then I'm really going to get mad
