Just ran across this article. It happened in 2008 but I never saw until now. This is quite a story.

"On Aug. 8, 2008, in Farah province, Afghanistan, Cpl. Franklin Simmons was part of a small Marine force tasked with clearing the city of Shewan of Taliban fighters....Simmons was deadly accurate, even under intense enemy fire. By the end of the eight-hour long battle, he had killed 18 enemy fighters, and wounded at least two others."

Thank you Cpl Simmons. A True Hero!
God Bless American precision!
If the Obama Administration finds out about this he will probably be prosecuted for using excessive force and murder.

August-18-1965 Operation Starlite One of the two Marine Medal Of Honor recipients for that operation was credited with (12) kills clearing out a field entrenchment. Eighteen in one battle is impressive no matter what engagement and or war.

I’d say he did a mighty fine job of it. Well done Marine.
Ya want a good read of deeds in battle, find Guadalcanal Diary by R. Tregiskis. Bravery is a long tradition in our armed forces, lets hope it continues...
