Just wanted to share. I found these at Meijer, 3 switches for $25.

Are you using such things indoors, outdoors? To good effect, so far?

In a couple of homes, I've had switches for the back yard security lighting allow me to double-flip the switch in order to keep the light on irrespective of the motion/daylight sensor. Sounds like these things are roughly similar in basic function.

My thought if there is something goes bump in the night we can easily turn on some lights immediately exposing any threats. I do have a weapon light and understand the cover of darkness, but the Mrs is not as comfortable with this tactic. It is just another option to choose on or off. I guess my thought is to expose them in hope they flee or be met with force. Thoughts?

I have remote control on all my house lights. I tell the wife to go turn them off/on. She tells me what to do also, but it's not fit for print nor physically possible.

My night lights are not to plugs. I am in the process of deciding on adding cameras and motion sensor lights.

I bought my wife this a week or two before I deployed. We/ She uses it often to turn the inside light on before we enter our home in the evenings.

I've posted it before, but I've got motion sensor on a lamp in every room downstairs. If the cat hears something she runs to investigate and turns on the light whether I'm home or not. Bad guy lurking outside sees the light and thinks somebody is home. It's a cheap alarm system. Will also work for people with a small dog that would otherwise be worthless for protection. :smile:

An "alarm" cat. Cool. :eek:k:

With an active animal, it's gotta be far more effective than those "timer" devices (which run to a pattern, anyway). Haven't met a cat, yet, that follows any pattern. Meow.

That was pretty much the idea. I read about it in a book. Since the bedrooms are upstairs, the cat can prowl as she wishes without disturbing anybody except for someone outside trying to figure out what's going on.

That would mean getting a cat... I'd rather have the intruder. At least he doesn't smell like a catbox. And he'd turn the lights on hisself, making himself a nice, well-lit target of opportunity.
