Anybody own a Rossi .357 or .38 revolver? How does the quality of Rossi match up against Taurus or S&W revolvers in 2in models? Guns America has a good deal on a this Rossi and it has me curious about what I would actually get for my money.

Rossi

OK...Here is a link to the RossiUSA Picture Page.

CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE ROSSI PHOTO PAGE.

Scroll down the page to "Revolvers" and click on what you are interested in looking at....REALLY some super crisp, clear, photos for the viewing. Much better than that auction photo.:yup:

My understanding is that they are decent quality Brazilian import.
I've shot a few Rossi shottys & owned an old "coach" - nothing wrong with it.
I've seen the revolvers & handled them & they looked fine & functional.

I don't want to throw this members thread off topic but, that Rossi Coach Gun was a bad little Mammer Jammer. I've not seen one in a long time though.

Rossi Must Be Somehow Tied In W/ Taurus Because The Rossi Guns Feature The Taurus Safety Lock.

Got a Rossi 6" .357, 4" .38 and 4" .22. I purchased the .38 and .22 in the early 90's and the .357 this past winter. All are VERY well made, reliable guns. FYI, Braztech (which also owns Taurus) bought Rossi a few years back. FWIW, my Rossi's are easily as good as anything you'll see made in the US these days and at a much better price.

In about 1985 I purchase a stainless steel five shot Rossi with 3" barrel in .38 spl. Major complaint was that the cylinder latch would some times come undone during recoil. The cyclinder-hand alignment was also not perfect for one chamber. S&W is the way to go for revolvers.

I also have a complaint about my Taurus, but not for my S&W's.

Taurus bought Rossi about a year ago. I have a older 2" 357.mag not a bad little pistol at all. The edges need to be smoothed down some. This is a stainless steel pistol so no problem messing up the finish by polishing the edges down some. Shoots pretty good, nice and small and I have the option of shooting .38 special or .357 mag in it. As a pistol to carry as a BUG on one for the times the 1911 is a bit large, works well.
