I went by the LGS today knowing the ammo was jacked up just for profit.
Sitting on a cart was 3 cases of federal 115 jacketed 9MM ammo.
The newest girl working though lunch, was there and asked if I needed help, I said i'd like one of though and she smiled and said sure.
and she started ringing me up she said anything else ? I said the other 2 ok ? she actually did it LOL I left there with a smile on my face.
$679.52 and I was gone.

The owner of the store buys this stuff breaks it down and sells it in little boxes. I bet he is going to be slightly upset.
But I'll sleep well tonight.
Now they are sold out, LOL:ridinghorse:

I hope everyone who thinks the the government is buying up all of the ammo and the manufacturers have stopped making ammo read this.

Congrats on your score. I'm not saying I would do any different. However, I do feel for the next 30 people who went to the store looking for a couple boxes of ammo and were told it's all gone.

Eventually the price will come back to sanity. Already I am seeing 7.62x39 for less than $6 a box at over 40 retailers. .40 SW is also less than $20 for a box of FMJ.

I can't believe how butthurt some of you are. If I were in this situation I would have jumped on it and stashed at least one case. Get over yourselves; after everything that has happened we all have a minimum round count we are comfortable keeping around and some of us are below that amount still.

I hope you go train with that ammo and not "prep".
You don't think keeping some ammo around is a good idea?

It's about ethics. Some of us hold ourselves to a higher standard than the law.

He took advantage of a naive employee, cleaned out his LGS (knowing that the owner would be upset), and is happy about it. The reason many LGS's ration their sale of ammo is so that they can provide for their entire customer base. It also keeps them coming in the shop. Hence, he endangered the employment status of the employee, and hurt the business of his LGS for selfish gain. Totally legal.

If that is your personal ethics standard, then so be it.

As I see it unless the LGS clerk was a recent hire they had to know the price of the item per box and the owners wishes to sell only a certain amount per customer per visit. Otherwise a fixed price in total could not be achieved. If it was the owners wish to only sell a certain amount per customer per day, then I see that as taking advantage of a scarce situation to lure in customers to his store. The fact that the OP beat him at his own game does not bother me. I suspect if this approach were anything other than ammo, say bottled water, no one would think a thing of it.
