The simple answer is no. What Harry The Dirty Dog Reid is trying to do with eliminating the filibuster for POTUS nominations doesn't directly affect gun control legislation. It is more than ironic, however, that it is the Democrats who have abused the filibuster for POTUS nominations for the past 40 years. There is no example, not one, of the GOP doing the same thing. However now, that it is likely that the GOP would seriously question the nominess of Barack Hussein down the stretch, when he has nothing left to lose and desperately wants to do as much damage to the country as he can before he leaves, Reid is using the liberal media to make it look like something only the GOP would consider doing.
The complicated answer to your question is.....perhaps, but it would take a long time, perhaps generations, for it to have his desired affect. Would take too long to type to develop the logic here.
The filibuster is one of the legitimate checks and balances in place to keep a simple majority from removing the rights of a minority; both parties use it when they are the minority and both parties complain about it when they are the majority.
