My favorite Colts to shoot: a Gen1 (1919) .44-40 with a 5 1/2" barrel, a Gen2 (1959) .45 Colt with a 5 1/2" barrel, a Gen3 (1978) Nez Perce - Chief Joseph commemorative .45 Colt with a 7 1/2" barrel.

Ahhh ... Coltness, backed by the famous red table. It just doesn't get any better.

Dan, I think I get a handle on the contents of your 1911-gun menagerie and yet a few more Colts creep into view from time to time.

First rate stuff!!!

Yeah and the Super .38s are makin' the sweat beads pop out on my forehead. It's a nice afternoon here with low winds and temperatures in the 70s. I'm off to the range to shoot .22 rifles and a .257 Roberts. I'll console myself by running a box through the 9mm Government Model, even though it's a paltry cartridge compared with .38 Super.
