I don't remember if I posted this here or not, but here is my Ithica 37 Sid Bell edition 20ga.

My father gave this to me for my birthday last year, it is only the 2nd Sid Bell Ithica I have seen.

The Ithaca Model 37

In my opinion...one of the greatest shotguns ever made.
Indestructible receiver milled out of a solid block of gun steel.
Super positive (no miss) feeding & ejection.
Ultra reliable workhorse of a shotgun.
Not nearly as much "add on" after-market "stuff" available for it like some of the other more popular shotguns. But, Oh Well.
It is one heckova deadly pumper though.
I have one in 12 gauge with a stubby Police/Riot barrel. :biggrin:
Dang do I love that "serious business" shotgun.

Nice, what is the signifigance of "Sid Bel"? sorry if this is a foolish question but never heard the name otr term before.

The Sid Bell thing is the red cap on the stock, it is made by Sid Bell. Here's the Sid Bell site http://www.sidbelloriginals.com/index.htm
In the late 70's Ithica made a line of supreme grade shotguns, and used the Sid Bell red cap to set them off.
I also have a 37 12ga slug gun that I use for our shotgun deer season up here. Like QK said they are a VERY good shottie, I love mine and have taken several deer with it.

The ONLY Thing I Don't Like About My Ithaca 37

is the UGLY roll engraving on the sides of the receiver.
That is just awful...artistically speaking.
The geese look like flying Heinz Ketchup Bottles with wings or something.
Does yours have that engraving?
I would have much rather they left the receiver BLANK AKA nothing on there at all.
NO ART IS BETTER THAN BAD ART.

Looks almost like my Mossy 500C but undoubtedly - a superior quality shottie.

This is an old pic - it now has synthetic stock - less good looking but more practical. Keep meaning to cut it down but my 870 serves as the ''shortie''.

My 20 ga. Model 37 is the first shotgun I bought for grouse hunting 35 years ago. I Love that gun.

thanks for the info. My friend had a 37 long time ago. Good shooting gun. I have a similar shotgun, a Browning bPS. I love the bottom eject as I am left handed.

I got an Ithica model 37 police version. It's a bit lighter than a Remy 870. My Ithica doesn't have a disconnector so if you hold the trigger back after the first shot, it fires as soon as you rack the bolt closed.
