HyperLayer starts with the most basic human need: safety. Our free application combines facial recognition, cloud computing, and next-generation mobile devices to reveal to users the criminal history of people they pass on the street. We use video and data streams provided by our users to create real time 3D models of populated areas.

This in combination with Google Glass makes for a pretty crazy situational awareness experience with lots of privacy ramifications.

I've been in IT for 20 years and I had a feeling that Google Glass was going to be a problem child!

Imagine just a few years from now, with instant, on-scene facial recognition and look-up via the "home office" databases (aka Google), current position tracking, etc. Imagine how a gang of 'bangers would utilize such capabilities, for whacking the competition, for identifying folks ratted out as carriers (or any other sort of juicy target, for whatever reason), etc. Known to be carrying loads of cash, known on the instant to be 'round that corner ... bang!, corner the guy, rob him, skedaddle.

Beautiful. :tired:
