I had used the Thunderwear version for about 8 and half yrs. The only prob I had with it was it was thinner denim than the Smart Carry is made of. Also if you have a tendency to sweat a lot, the Thunderwear doesn't have a layer of Cushmax like the Smart Carry does. I actually had 2 guns begin to rust on me using the Thunderwear even though I wiped them down with an oil rag every night. I ordered 2 of the Smart Carry Systems (the ambi-model,) since I carry not 1 but 2 of the Glock G30SF's and both of them have the Lasermax Unilaser mounted on the Glock rail. I wear either pleated dress slacks or pleated Dockers, one size larger than normal. I also use suspenders instead of a belt. I'm able to draw with either hand and get my first shot COM in 1 and half seconds. To answer your questions, I've tried with and empty gun of course to get the trigger to pull thru the Smart Carry, not a chance of it happening. Also the Smart Carry utilizes and internal stiching method the eliminates the possibility of your gun catching on the seams during the draw. The layer of Cushmax has prevented any gun that I've carried in it from getting any rust due to sweat or humidity.
I have no relationship with the owner of Smart Carry (Charlie Parrot,) but he is a great guy to talk to. Just give him a call and tell him what you plan on carrying in it, he will recommend the correct size. Then go to the website and place your order. I wear mine year round, and have never been made, even while standing around talking to cop friends.
Good luck and always stay safe.
