I just got a Smartcarry and can not find a comfortable spot to wear it with my Kahr P40.

Gun centered on my body:

Butt end just below my belt line and it is comfortable sitting but rubbed my man parts weird while walking.

Gun as low as it will fit in my pants and it is comfortable walking and decent sitting as long as I am leaning back.

Gun anywhere inbetween did not seem to work well either

Gun at 11 oclock (on top my left leg) with butt on zipper:

Butt couple inches below the belt it is comfortable walking but jabs me in the gut while sitting.

Butt several inches below the belt it is still comfortable walking and jabs me less in the gut while sitting, but still not what I would consider comfotable, and seems more likely to move around with my leg.

Am I missing something here? Just can not find that sweet spot (assuming it exists) Any recommendations?

Maybe try a different pair of pants. I find that *tight* jeans don't work great with the SC. The length of the gun compared to the length of the pants in the crotch area is something to take into notice. Looser fitting pants work much better. Good luck.

Well, you obviously need a new gun.

or you could give it a few days and a few outfits...

+1 on the comfortable pants

I have found the same thing. I am 5'9" about 160. I wear 32" pants. I just got my Smartcarry too. I am going to have to find my baggiest pants/shorts to make it work. I may just send it back.

I've never tried one, but judging from the design I'd say Smart Carry was intended to be used with short barreled compact pistols in loose fitting pants. Anything else is too bulky.
Having the butt below the beltline would make for one slow and potentially painful draw.
Bottom line is, if it's that uncomfortable you will give up using it and start leaving
your piece behind. I'd get a new holster.

You'll just have to keep trying different positions until you find what works for you. Everybody's shape is different and what works for one person, might not work for you.
I have one that I use on rare occasions, when I'm not wearing a belt and an OWB holster, usually lounging around at home in sweatpants or shorts. I can't see the practicality of drawing from the SC holster while wearing a belt.
Sitting down adds another problem, both drawing and finding the "right spot" and it did take me a while. I found for me that spot is over the appendix, with the holster high enough on my waist to keep the grip just above my waistband.
I would suggest trying out the holster at home and adjusting it until you find what is comfortable.

Just sent mine back. Could not get it to work out. Tried to carry my CZ Rami. Made me look like the Viagra just kicked in. Also could not for the life of me make any kind of semi-fast draw, seemed I had to fumble around way to long.

Hey, Bbb don't give up on your SC. I carry daily in the summer time my M&P 40c in one. I'm 5'9" @ 170 w/ a 32" waist. I wear pleated size 33" shorts and carry low with the muzzle touching the inseam. Keep trying it works for a lot of guys. :22a:

Before you think about the pager pal do a search on this site, you might save yourself some $$$. :hand1:

huh

Most of you people out there complaining about sc, need to show some pictures of you wearing it for accurate feedback.

Second get rid of the ultra tight pants. You have to wear at least one size bigger to work. I find it very comfortable with Pt145, MU85 38 snubby, and my Kahr MK9.

I don't look like I am eating Viagra either.

Odd, I love mine.
DOckers or Jeans might need to be somewhat loose, but I did not resize any of my pants for mine. What I espcially like is the comfort, and if I do print, I will take a Viagra joke over a "whats that you got under your shirt" question. IMO a potential print at the crotch level is more likely to be given an error read than a waist band traditional holster carry. There is a thread somewhere here on reading persons walk and mannerisms to detect CC that is very thought provoking. While I find my TW a perfect fit for my application, please pursue what works for YOU!

No doubt the SC conceals very very well and I give it an A+ for that. Tried it for anouther day, and with the gun at 11 and up as high as it will go staying under my pants it was very comfy walking around the block, Still not great to sit down in though...barely could put my left shoe on in fact. I don't think this one will be for me.

Some stats, I am 6'4" 220 lb and carrying a P40, so I don't think anyone could argue the gun should be smaller. Also tried it lastnight with no pants on at all, and had the same issues trying to sit down, so don't think larger pants would help.

Oh well, I will stick with the belly band for summer time, and now that it is getting cooler find me an OWB holster for the winter.

Did you try it with looser pants, perhaps cargo pants with a baggy crotch?

I wear mine as low as it will go, and the baggier the pants, the more comfortable it is.

Have you tried it with sweat pants, or loose shorts?

A lot of people love SC but I hated mine- even tried sweat pants and it just was not comfortable- i put it up, down, right left..... when i sat down it went into my gut... and you can only lower it so much

It's no longer referred to as "pager pal". It's Cell Pal.

I was at a gun show where a Cell Pal dealer got in a rather spirited discussion with a SmartCarry dealer.

They ended up having an impromptu quick-draw contest.

They drew several times, and the Cell Pal dealer easily beat the SmartCarry dealer every single time.

The SmartCarry dealer promptly disappeared back to his table.

I've used both, and I've found the Cell Pal to be considerably faster.

I have NO financial relationship with Cell Pal, and have owned dozens of other brands of holsters over the last 30+ years.

I've been looking at the elastic waist band products with the built in holster. It doesn't ride inside your pants. I've been looking for another option when I'm not wearing my tacticle pants (cargo pants)

I saw the quote about the .380 from Massad there Def. Arms .....
Massad didn't shoot them in the right place. A .380 is a bit less potent than the 9mm, so you have to shoor them where it is effective. Several rounds to the stomach/groin area will make the .380 more effective. By not having any rib bones to deal with, the bullet will travel to the lower spine and wipe out several vertabrae .... also bullets travelling thru a gut shot person, breaking the hip bone, or exploding the hip and ball socket into pulverized pieces will instantly stop an aggressor. Even one hyped up on drugs will stop almost instantly with a blown out spine or exploded hip socket.
The .380 rounds just have to be put in the right place !! I practice shooting at the belt area and below. If the bad guy is wearing a bulletproof vest he bought off ebay and a leather biker type jacket, everything at the belt level and below is open to bullets doing lots of damage.
