Yesterday, I went out to see what they had in the way of guns at the local gun/pawn shop. First I asked about ARs. $1200 on up. No thank you. Semi auto long guns, pretty cleaned out. A few 22s, etc. Nothing I'm looking for, of 308, 30-06, etc. So now we look at bolt actions. A bunch new in box. $3-500 range. Now we're talking. Savage, Tikka, etc. Some even have a scope. Tested a few. Every single one of those new in box, 13.5" pull, too short. If i can find a 1-2 inch recoil pad for one of them, I might have to pick one up.

I told the guy the issue, and he had one option. A sporterized Eddystone Pattern 14. Said it was properly done. So, I take a look. Numbers matching. Fairly low serial number. Good weight, scope mount, Monte Carlo stock. 1 minor repair on the stock, that doesn't effect anything. Fits right in next to my sporterized low s/n numbers matching SMLE. Pictures to follow. I have 2 questions, however. I tried to get a good picture of the scope mount. Hopefully, someone can suggest what type of scope rings I need for this. And also what the writing on the barrel, close to where it says P14 and 303 means.

That's a nice looking shooter, Workaholic, congratulations. I'm sorry I can offer no help on your questions.

Looks good. The bases look like Weavers.
