My wife just got an expensive paring knife from a well-known German cutlery company a few days ago. It was a warranty replacement for another one that we had for many years - the handle broke, and they have a lifetime warranty.

Imagine her surprise when she went to use it to cut a chocolate Easter bunny - and the blade snapped in two! :blink:

Serves as a reminder that anything made by man can fail - and a backup plan is a good idea.
