Hey folks, I'm in need of a quality gun belt and preferably leather. I have one of the 5.11 belts. Not sure what it's made of but its not leather. Anyways I cannot keep it tight, or really even get it tight for that matter. Would like some names of good belts with the normal buckle, I do not care for this slide buckle or whatever it's called on the 5.11. Thanks for any advice.

My next leather belt will be a Bigfoot.
Bigfoot. Quality leather with a steel insert. I've had mine for 3 weeks. I've tried many, but none have been as good as this one. It doesn't bend, twist or stretch. It will support anything you hang on it. Bigfoot Gun Belts
Tucker Gun Leather, Milt Sparks, and Comp Tac both all excellent gun belts. They're not cheap, but they are high quality.
here are several that I like and trust. I'm wearing a "Better Belt" A Better Belt - Ultimate Gun Belt - A Better Belt USA I'm wearing this one A Better Belt - Contour Belts~The Perfect Fit Belt - A Better Belt USA Which I find remarkably comfortable but other very good belts are by "Bigfoot"http://gunbelts.com/

Others will chime in. There are several which will do the job perfectly for you. Either of the ones I suggested or the flavor of the month sure to follow.

Good luck and enjoy!

Had a 5.11 casual belt. Yeah, "leather". Some composite leather-ish product. I wore mine out.

Replaced it with a Wilderness Tactical Frequent Flyer. Good so far. (But not a "normal" buckle.)
I wear a DEsantis E25 belt. Good, sturdy leather belt for less than $20. I carry a S&W 5906, which is a heavy gun. The belt holds the gun in place with no slippage, and most importantly, it's comfortable.
Alright guys thanks for all the links. I got their websites bookmarked, so I can check them out when I get a spare minute!

I just saw where Magpul is now making gun belts. Looks like nice leather ones.

This is my current 5.11 belt that I don't care so much for.

I have been using an Aker B21, and it's been stellar. Easily supports my full size M&P9 with spare mag with no issues.
I ordered my belt from Thompson Tactical. It's a comfortable belt that is very well made.

What are you carrying and how are you carrying? I've had a Beltman for two years and I've started to use it for IWB (HK P2000). I also bought a Trakline just to have a second belt. I'm finding that the 1/4" adjustment on the Trakline is very desirable for IWB; I can get the belt just right, above my hip bone, when the gun is at about 4:00. Trakline says the belt is suitable for mid-weight guns; works well for the HK but wouldn't be substantial enough for my 1911.

My belt holds my pants up, but the belt loops hold my belt up. I don't really know what's happening down there. Who is the real hero? - Mitch Hedberg

For me I have had my Bigfoot Gun Belt since Jan 02, 2016 and wear it everyday all day. I carry a Glock G17 and two spare magazines. I have the 18oz belt. On my AIWB Holster I had to re arrange the spacers on the single clip to fit, but I also have a set of loops. I have a Serpa holster with the belt slide. It is hard to get on the 18oz belt. I might eventually buy a 14 oz belt also. I highly recommend Big Foot !

I've been happy with the two Armour belts that I own, both 1 1/2 inch leather, one brown one black. No sag or other deformation after over a year of daily use
