Just had to get this out there. Ive seen a ton of reviews given by lots of different channels, and I have to say IMHO sootch00 is the best. He is very thorough, very clear, understandable and his videos are of great quality. TheFireArmGuy and Hegshot87 are a close second in my opinion. The other guys are good, but these 3 stand out to me. I personally enjoy sootch00 the best though. Let me know if you agree with me or not. Oh yeah, I cannot stand TheYankeeMarshall. He is way to opinionated. He is kinda entertaining in a super annoying way though. :scruntiny:

Sootch is pretty good. My favorite is TWANGnBANG followed by Mrgunsngear. Hickok45 will be the first to tell you that he doesn't do reviews; he does overviews. I consider him to be entertainment, but he's another one of my favorites.

I just subscribed to his channel a couple days ago. Have only seen a couple so far but I like him so far.

I occasional watch Sootch if he is reviewing a gun I am particularly interested in, but overall I find his reviews to be more like a gun ad, sort of like GunBlast. The folks I watch consistently are Hickok45, Nutnfancy, and Mrgunsngear.

Gun channels on Youtube where guys review various firearms. Its actually very helpful in guiding you towards a firearm you may be interested in. I watched sootch00 review the P07 prior to handling one. Same with my LCP9s.

Tue...Sootch is the perpetual enthusiast. He would find something positive to say about dog rockets, and somehow his review would gloss over the fact that they smell funny and have a tendency to get smeared all over your shoes.

I make no judgment on Sootch, he seems like a good guy.

I see most of these supposed "gun guys" on youtube as fair weather enthusiasts. In my estimation, very few are actually squared away on the subject of self defense, personal safety or armed conflict. Show me a guy who's gear is his bread and butter and has also carried a gun operationally/occupationally.. I will listen and learn. I can certainly respect what a guy has to say about what he is doing on a pretty day at the range but I generally classify such information as entertainment not education.

I heard a guy once say that Jessie James is a real bike builder but 90% of what you see other supposed "builders" doing is NOT bike building. I know exactly what that guy was saying and I see the same sort of things in the arena of firearms.

I don't youtube all that much but when I do its typically historical documentaries. When it is about guns, its :

I find that he sounds like an advertisement, a paid advertisement. I used to watch him some, but not recently.

I like Sootch. He's a great guy, and I've spoken with him several times online and face to face. He makes thorough and good videos, but I don't think they can be considered reviews. I think a better term would be overview. He never really goes over the negatives of anything. I do know he only likes to make videos of things he likes, which may have something to do with that.

That's a good discussion point here; overview versus actual review. I would estimate that the vast majority of gun channels on YouTube are overviewers. While Nutnfancy can annoy the living crap out of me, when I actually want to get a good idea about an item I like watching his reviews, because I think they are just that; actual reviews.

VuurwapenBlog is another who presents great reviews as well, I really enjoy his information.

I like Hickock45,, He's a good source for a general overview without him getting into to many pros and cons.

I've heard Sootch mention negative aspects of things he reviews. He just doesn't dwell and go on about it. I quit watching Hickock45. He's covered all the guns I'm interested in and as other have said, he mainly gives broad overviews. Rarely do you hear him say anything negative about a gun. I will give him props on his ability to shoot small guns with those huge hams of his though! :)

So have I. One right off the top of my head is when he mentioned the trigger of the Walther PPQ M2 being a bit gritty on takeup compared to the VP9. He said the reset was better on the PPQ though. As mentioned before, he doesnt dwell on it. Hegshot87 will just straight up say he doesnt like a certain gun and give you reasons why. But, he always says its his opinion and others may be OK with the issue. :comeandgetsome:
