So, I saw an alert today on Facebook from the National Association for Gun Rights claiming that
Speaker Boehner is working behind the scenes to move new federal gun control laws forward.

Might be a good idea to flood his office with emails, letters, and phone calls.

What's wrong with you? Do you want to hurt his feelings and make him start crying again!!
Sure, why not. If he is going to be a RINO, then he deserves to have his feelings hurt.

A prime example of how we can't just assume an (R) next to their name means they can be trusted to stand with us on anything. The pressure has to stay on, and people like him need to no longer be returned to power. As long as we continue to send wishy-washy yahoos like that to Washington this fight is going to go on, with us on the defensive. It's time to start turning it around and pay attention to who we nominate, and vote on.

That would require common sense. Most voters don't have that.

OBoehner, Obummer, Manchin and Toomey...

The cadre of turncoats is driving me looney.

Under the radar, behind the scenes...
Nothing like transparency has ever been.

Liars and politicians...
Indistinguishable as identical twins.

Yeah, I got tapatalk, too. So what?

2014 KABAMM!!!! and Obama would have a miserable lame last 2. My hope is we can get past this 15 year cloud. When this country does turn around it's going to explode with a financial boom. It's trying to come to life even with these idiots smothering it. I am so sick of these corrupt ********. But like the title of the book "death of outrage" our people are so worn down and exhausted from the BS it's hard to put on the good fight year after year. At some point we need to be able to stop working and fighting and live a little bit. I'm not sure how I will act if the democrats and liberals are not defeated and the sorry ass republican losers are not all flushed out of there for some fresh blood.

From the article:

"We are trying to improve the system to keep people who are barred under the law from owning firearms, from getting access to them. We don't think the things that were proposed in the Senate do that. So we have not backed away from trying to figure out how to improve that, but we've made no decisions yet about what to do," Goodlatte explained.

So Bob Goodlatte is talking for John Boehner and basically says a whole lot of nothing. Paraphrasing "We don't like what they did, even though they didn't do it, so we haven't backed away from figuring it out, but we've got nothing."

Sounds like he is going around his elbow to get to his rear so that politically they can say "We didn't kill gun control, the Senate did."

Boehner is only slightly better than Pelosi. What a spineless weasel. He has "Politician" written all over his face. Never liked him. He has no spine and only plays little footsy games with Obama and the dems instead of hammering them.

Washington is a bunch of weaklings having the worlds most expensive pillow fight in history.

Probably to protect his sacred highway bills to get more government money flowing into his state. Look up worthless in the dictionary and the first definition is "John Boehner", followed by his picture.

When politicians try to convince us that they are going to do something clever and sophisticated with an issue their constituents abhor, we should all grab our ankles and brace ourselves! When they tell us it is for the common good.......it is already too late to grab our ankles!

As long as Americans keep voting for parties instead of candidates, nothing is going to change. I was in the Senate gallery a couple of years ago to see the vote for Sec. of Defense (Penetta) and I felt dirty when I left. These guys act like they are mortal enemies when the media is around, but they're really more like old rich farts hanging out at the country club, slapping each other on the backs and yuckin' it up! These so-called parties are more alike than many realize!

Many of the liberty-hating minions are working hard to destroy or sidestep the Constitution behind the scenes, 'cause that's where they can make their shady, back-room deals and plan an aggressive, slip-'em-a-quickie political end-around that'll shove the proposals through without review, without debate. Whether Boehner is doing such things, one can only wonder. I would assume so, given the S.649 drubbing the liberty-haters all took last month.

About the only thing that's a strong indicator of behavior and honor is when they wear their sworn oath to the People on their foreheads and act that way each and every time they come near our Constitution or the Senate/House floors. And there aren't too many of those.

We need an aggressive, Sarbanes-Oxley style requirement surrounding the whole legislative process, where each individual congressman is held to the sworn oath standard on every single bill and vote, and that severe "teeth" are part of abuse of that, "teeth" to the level of crimes against the Constitution. Of course, it's all like a fox watching the chicken coop, with these folk, in which we need monitors to monitor the monitors. :aargh4:

So, what do you suggest?

I vote against whoever's in... Well I used to. Now, 2A is my litmus test. Of course, they all say "I'm a firm supporter... Hunter... blah blah blah..."

The only thing I can think of to counter that is to ask them face to face at a stump speech...
"Is the second amendment about hunting/self defense, or is it there so that Citizens can escort you and your cronies out of office at gunpoint, if need be?"

And that question will just get me put on a list.

And the presidential election is locked in at two parties because of the Electoral college. I know it's not supposed to be; but IMO it is.

I told my congressman at the first of the year that we NEED a new speaker. Alas a rebellion was in the works and then fell apart at the last minute. Maybe next time?

Problem is, some staunch 2A supporters have the worst economic ideas and so on. We face a much more deadly threat than the 2A fight. We are going to fall off a huge financial cliff if we don't focus on the real issues of economic growth and jobs. Right now our campaigner in chief is ignoring the important things to focus on now win policies like gun control and abortion. This is of course when he is not golfing or partying with J-Lo and Beyonce.

We need a new CONGRESS and SENATE! 100% wipe them out and start over. I wish we could get back to term limits and the PEOPLE representing the PEOPLE.

You know, it used to be that Senators were sent to the Senate by their state legislature. Of course that created problems in states with large population centers NY, IL, CA etc. So we went with the 17th amendment...

The only way to get term limits is to do it on the state level... Each state would have to legislate that their senators and representatives could not serve more than 2 full terms at the federal level of each house. 6 terms in total, if they should be elected president. Congress will never vote to limit it's own income production... (that's what it is, once in congress, you will be set for life.. more's the better, of course. Tenure=committee=power=money... pure and simple.

Oh, and to answer the part in bold... without the 2nd amendment... there also will be no financial security... or any other security at all... And we won't be able to defend ourselves from fiscal "hostile takeover" which could very well be the end result of the "last fiscal cliff."
