Guys...

I'm looking to find a horizontal holster for a Surefire 6P that clips in only the flashlight head and protects it from damage. I want the whole handle available to grab and use. has anyone ever encountered this, or does anyone have any idea how to mold kydex into the holder i'm trying to make?

V70 speed holster

Try this out, it holds it lens up or lens down. It can holster the 6P or G2.

I personally don't like using it tip down. I'll see it I can post a personal pic of me with it like that.

If you want something nicer, shoot off an email to On Scene Tactical. The 6P is one of their in house lights and their stuff isn't terribly expensive. I've had two or three of their products.

Just got back from the GUN SHOW and got some accessories and looked at the guns I think I might want in the near future for prices...and I got to my old SUREFIRE Dealer only to find he'd dropped the brand in favor of PENTAGON LIGHTS. What happened is that Pentagon Lights took the SureFire and out-engineered it to the point that the 82nd Airborne now has a contract with them to provide both weapons lights and personal use lights. I got a 75 Lumen Xenon bulb two lithium cell light for about $60 which beats the SureFire models in every category except the nitrolon plastic body in price for the lumen. Shucks Ex - that must have pi$$ed off Surefire!

That price you mention sounds more than good - I wonder if they do or will do LED head units - that is my preference these days.
SureFire?

I saw some of the LED units. I compared a 75 lumen unit in the Xenon bulb with a 90 lumen unit in the LED and the 75 Xenon wins hands down and with the Pentagon the bulbs last three to five times as long as the SureFire! But more importantly, I found out that even more powerful LEDs "wash out" over just a few feet. But the spot on the xenon is deadly blinding white at much further distances 20 YARDS or more.

See in the Surefire, the batteries are NOT separate from the bulb unit so if you drop it nose first the batts slam against the bulb assembly. Similarly, when it's used as a weapons light, the recoil does similar damage. In the Pentagon, the batteries are in a separate compartment and that compartment is protected by six O-Rings compared to the SureFire two and some glue....The Pentagon will function at 150ft of water depth. When the 82nd was sent a batch to test, the spare bulbs were not even included in the package. They were never needed for the course of the year long test.
