I was looking to improve my skills before I posted a dismal showing at the state IDPA match in June. A lot of the guys in my club recommended THIS book and since one of the match sponsors offers it on their website, I got it from them and told them I was in the match and wanted to give them some business.
I know that a lot of my problems aren't with accuracy...if anything I'm overly accurate and very slow on the reloads. I know that I have some problem with my grip and trigger control. Some stuff I was doing of which I was unaware. I've been a shooter for over thirty years and an instructor for about ten years. But I'm not one of those old dogs that can't learn.
This book is most definitely about fighting for defense and NOT target practice! On that basis, I can recommend it for even the new shooter who already has been trained on the mechanics of pistol marksmanship and wants to learn good techniques for self defense.
