I'm one of the folks who pits some stainless. Leather doesn't live with me for long either. It's plastic pretty much or bust.

I put my carry guns through hell. The only thing that keeps me sane is the Midway "anti-rust" stuff in an aerosol can - with it, I can go six weeks in 100 degree weather without rusting a gun.
