The Bombs Didn?t Have Permits Either « Commentary Magazine

"The draconian gun laws on the books in Massachusetts did nothing to stop the Tsarnaevs from finding the weapons they used to carry out their terrorist attack or their deadly shootouts with police. More gun legislation, even the reasonable Manchin-Toomey attempt to close background check loopholes that would not have violated anyone’s Second Amendment rights, wouldn’t have stopped them from killing Officer Sean Collier, let alone killing three persons and wounded 150 others at the Marathon."

The liberals and gun-grabbers will once again squarely place the blame on the wrong issues.

Do we know the brothers even had guns? What guns, what model, what caliber? There has been talk of this shootout... there are more than 200 shell casings... do they all belong to LE? Did they make 200 shots and only score hits 4 or 5 times? The bombers were throwing bombs... but give me details on the guns... I haven't seen any indication that they actually had any guns...

"... shall not be infringed."

It's a RIGHT, constitutionally protected and guaranteed against infringement (violation, erasure), and yet the acquisition, sale, carrying of arms is subject to permission from government hirelings.

And that's most definitely not right.

"... even the 'reasonable' Manchin-Toomey amendment ..." shows the leftist, draconian-law leanings of the writer. Unsurprising, given how few appreciate how thin of a thread exists with our liberties from these liberty-hating despots seeking to deprive all victims of the means of effectively withstanding predation.

The two cops that they shot are a dead giveaway.

You mis quoted him... did you mis read him, too?

even the 'reasonable' Manchin-Toomey amendment
He did use the single quotation marks around reasonable... meaning that was the supposed intent of the term in the case of the munchkin-looney amendment...

Everbody here knows weren't nutin' reasonable in it.

No, the author didn't, in the article. He said it straight-up, as his take on the liberty-busting attempt.

My wording in the earlier post included the single-quotes, 'cause I recognize both the attempt and the write-up for what they were.
