I have seen a few of these. Most of them were fakes. I even knew a guy that made them. Neither the gun sellers or old book sellers would have anything to do with him. He was not even careful to match the ages of the gun to the book. He would also stamp the name Wells Fargo, or Pony Express on both guns and saddle gear.
