I'm not talking about Russia, China, N. Korea, I mean against each other. I'm DONE. Long before this happened in December I was prepping for this sort of thing. I mean enough for all my guns just so I could go target shooting on some weekends and have enough for self defense and SHTF scenario. To be honest I have much more than I can carry if need be.

I just actually liked walking into a LGS or Walmart, or Bass Pro and just looking around. I maybe might even buy a box of this or that BUT NOT THE WHOLE DAMN SHELF like I see now. Ive heard you guys talk, Ive heard you plan and scheme, and then retailers got into it. When I saw this yesterday, I said that's it.

.22 LR Armscor Solid Point 40 Grain 500 Round Brick Standard Velocity 1135 fps $0.30/rd [$149.79] and we all know this on line retailer

The same thing is going on here locally, most of it to each other . So effective immediately Choke on it . Yes I know its a free market but enough is enough. I just wont shoot as much or stop til this crap stops . Im not talking about me trading you for this or that, or getting rid of a box here and there.

Guys with ads- 1000 rounds .....Cash, don't bother calling me . Let me know how that's working for ya in a few months Jackass :aargh4:

Sorry about the rant .....

Where is it all going? Is it the manufacturers? If retailers can't even get, where is it? I would think that the manufactures would be shipping out the same amount as before, but retailers are getting them in as much as before.

Forgive me for my tinhat moment, but is something more sinister going on with supply and demand?

This is just my opinion so take it for what it is worth.

Manufactures met supply and demand on .22 ammo before the scare and had reserves, not a lot but enough to cover themselves. When all this struck they were bled dry quickly and the reserves were depleted. I have noticed lately on gunbroker and other sites lots of 5-10,000 rounds of .22 never noticed that before so it is out there folks are simply making as much money as they can while they can this includes bit retailers and some gun shops. Then add those who scarf up anything they can find for resale it is all gone.

For my local shop a good day was $10,000 in sales. The day after the speech/scare started they sold $58,000 in guns and ammo in one day and that was at regular prices. Over the following weeks it continued until there stock was depleted. When I last talked to them the only handguns they had left were single action revolvers and some high end 1911's.

So far I have not really had an issue finding ammo online or from smaller shops who did not raise there prices all that much. Obviously the bigger quantity you buy the cheaper it is. As I have stated before we are our own worst enemy. Supply and demand became the battle cry for many including non gun owners. People who have never owned a gun bought ammo from Wal Mart or wherever simply to resell. The chance at a quick buck overcame morals and ethics.

AT-TI-CA!!! AT-TI-CA!!! AT-TI-CA!!!

Seriously though...I dig your rant. And I agree. It's a disgrace, and i'm going to wait it out while all the knuckleheads pay 5x what they should be for ammo. I'm not ashamed to say that I have been using airsoft / bb guns :headbang:

I hear what you are saying. I too have had it with this bull, and will not contribute to this unrealistic price hacking we have seen lately. I walk into fleet farm every other day and see guys just staring at the empty shelves, shaking their heads. no 22 ammo at all here, and why? I refuse to spend a dime until this stupidity has ended.

I can get 22 ammo cheap. I dont buy much maybe 100 rounds for the Marlin every month or so just to have .

I understand most everyone that will own any sort of gun will have at least some sort of 22 around maybe the only gun they own. What I dont understand is the big run on 22 lr. You can kill big animals with it if you know what your doing but its hardly the go to round for it. And I cant see that run for SD on that round. Cant imagine anybody spending that sort of money to shoot tin cans:ticking:

My armory is in very good shape. :image035:

Went to my range Friday, and was surprised to find everything from .223 to 9mm and .40. They were even selling it to carry out the door again. On the shelves was a brand new XDSC9mm, XDs45, a ton of AR's and a couple AK's.

In all honesty, I think drought is gone, but just like first rains, they it evaporates before it hitst he ground, so we gotta wait a while before we actually get puddles. Interpretation - there's so much backlog of orders and whatnot, I think it's going to take a while to see store shelves filling up again, but the time of little to no ammo anywhere is over I think . . . as long as the weapons ban doesn't go through. If it does, there'll be a whole new run.

I TOTALLY agree! :congrats:

I'm out until these rifle panickers realize they have $2000 of black plastic in their closet that hey have never shot. I hope there are people with 50lbs of lead and brass taking up shelf space. I hope they don't store it as..."discretely" from their wife as I do. I'm waiting for heir wives to say GET RID OF THAT JUNK!

It may take 6 months. I'm thinking more like 3 years. I've been shooting longer than that. I'll be shooting well after people come to their senses. My only concern is related to the gasoline price madness. We have been desensitized to $4.00 gas. $3.50 seems like a deal now. There is no reason for gas to be over $2.00/gallon. There is no reason for 9mm FMJ to be over $0.20 per round. Those days are long gone. :frown:

It is a bubble, pure and simple and it will collapse just like the housing market did here in the south. Just be patient and watch.

It might be a bubble. It might not.

It might be the new "norm"

It could get worse...lots worse...and then some of you will be lamenting the days that you could buy ANY ammo. You'll be telling your kids storys of how ammo used to line the shelves. How you used to carry pocketfuls of .22 and shoot bricks of it at the range in one shooting session. How a brick of .22 cost less than eating out. How you could get them anywhere.

With the fools in office working around the clock to subvert everything this country ever stood for...

You aint seen nuthin yet.

Agreed.

We'll go through all this again next year when we realize the House race is going to be a lot closer than we think.

I've been buying 9mm for $14.99 for a fairly local shop the past few months when they have it. Sure $15 is a bit much, but reasonable, in my opinion considering what I've seen online. Fortunately, but unfortunately, they're limiting two boxes per caliber, per customer, which is why they're able to keep some in stock. They've been able to get 300 round cases and are selling them at $100, despite the caliber.

This is what I have been talking about and why I wont Buy Nothing from these idiots..

Just saw this locally and why I hate, just seethe, the greed in the human race. It really is not necessary, and one day, just one day it can and will come around to haunt you. You may be really bad off and need food.....or a bullet so you can defend yourself....Oh I will give you one

Below is the post-

Thanks to all you idiots who bought my AK47's and AR15's for $1250 to $1600 each a couple months ago, and thanks to all you fools who gave me $550 per case for my Steel AK47 and AR15 ammo. Thanks to all you morons who paid $750 and $800 a case for my brass .223 and $40-$60 each for my stockpile of 30 and 40 rd mags.I now have come full circle and repurchased all my weapons I sold to you morons. AK's and AR's are back in stock at decent prices, ammos back in stock at reasonable prices also. I spent less than 1/2 what I sold my stuff for and replaced every weapon and every round of ammo I sold. Anyone with half a brain knew there would be no ban, I love the O'bummer sheep....they are fun to play with. Sincerely, E Thug
