love to know just how you did that AND do you think it will fire form AND what an amazing bullet that is....is that the product of a military mind, designed to penetrate 6 or seven layers of winter gear after 200 - 300 meters.....
I set the seating die too low. I use a micrometer with my precision rifle loads. So I set the micrometer where it should be and, like I always do, ran a dummy round for verification. It certainly turned out to be a dummy round. Lol.
I was joking about the fire form part. If it even could chamber, it would be dangerous.
My friends, thank you one and all, and especially XXX Heavy!
This (as usual) benefits more than just the OP!
Not only a shared lesson, but several good chuckles and a hearty guffaw!
Pulling the bullet with an inertial bullet puller may pull the neck out a bit.
Then see if the empty case will resize. One might even de-prime first, anneal the case and re-size. Then fire form with a light load. The excessive 'fold' isn't dangerous UNLESS it cracks the case. I've done the same thing in the same way. After the initial panic dies down, it's no big deal.
I like the 6.5x55 cartridge. It does a good job on most anything one can reliably hit.
