I just read an article in one of the recent handgun mags and noticed that this company was mentioned and the trainers and trainees were wearing them. Does anyone have any personal experience with these? I like the idea of being able to use them IWB and OWB.

I have 3 Phantoms holsters using their optional pancake wings (which lets you pull the holster in a little tighter) for OWB carry and they are IMO the best holsters out there. I would recommend them to anyone!

You can get IWB hooks and carry IWB as well. I'm not big on IWB, so I haven't tried them.

Just do a search and you find them highly recommended everywhere on the net.

Thank you. You carry OWB all year around? What do you use for a cover garment?

I've had one for a couple of months now for a Glock 36. I've been pretty pleased with it so far. It's surprisingly comfortable IWB for a non-leather holster. I normally find IWB rather uncomfortable, but this holster has made it more than bearable for me. I have worn it 12 hours at a time with very little issue.

I've not really worn it OWB because that's not what I got it for. I have another kydex holster with adjustable retention that I prefer for that. If there were any fault I could find with Raven, it would be that they don't offer this feature. I'm not saying retention is poor with the Raven Phantom, because it does hold the weapon very well, I just like to be able to adjust it on OWB's. IWB retention is aided by the belt and is excellent with the Phantom, by the way.

I also like a hard forward cant. The nice thing about Raven is that they will make to order, so I was able to get mine with a 20% rake. Jay also keeps you up to date with the order process through emails very well.

All in all, I recommend them.

Yes, I carry OWB all year round. Being in FL, most of the time I just wear a loose fitting t-shirt. When it's cool enough, I will just wear a regular size t-shirt and wear a loose fitting button up shirt (unbuttoned) over it or one of my bodyguard jackets: Israeli Secret Service (SHABAK) Bodyguard Jacket

It really doesn't take much to conceal / prevent printing.

If I ever do have a problem with printing, I use Heat-N-Bond Iron-On Adhesive, which lets you attach of piece of material to another without sewing. So I can add a layer to the inside of a shirt just in the area where it prints and then I don't have to wear a heavier shirt.

Hey Diablo,

Your Bodyguard Jacket (Shabak) looks pretty cool, so thanks for the link. The website said that it runs small...did yours fit small? How durable have you found it?

Thanks

I have heard nothing but good but did not buy one as I could never talk with Jay. Wanted to get some questions answered and possible changes done. Wish I could have but I guess he was too busy.

They run small. You want to get 1 size up for sure. I have broad shoulders and had to go 2 sizes up. I've had no problems with them and have all of them.

I have a Large Navy Brand New...$35 shipped. If you need a Large.

I'm a Large, so I purchased a Large and X-Large. Figured if they didn't really run small, I would just send the XL back. Turned out the XL was still snug in my shoulders and then ordered XXL. Instead of sending them back I sold the XL and still have the L...If anyone wants???

I never talked with him, but every time I emailed him with a question, he answered within an hour; most times sooner. He must have a smartphone/blackberry/Iphone or something with it being so quick. I also got frequent updates about the process of my order. Try emailing him if you have questions. He didn't seem to mind me pestering him; probably sent 8 email questions before I ordered to make sure it was what I wanted.
