I don't know about anyone else but I get tired of people posting with a title such as:

"Need opinion"
"Questions"
"Help me choose"
"seeking Advice"
"New Gun"
"New Holster"

Well you get the idea. I wish people would be a little more specific in their titles to let us know what their post is about.

When I look at the new posts for the day I have started ignoring those with such general titles which is really a shame because you never know when I or someone else may be able to help that person.

Sorry, just had to vent.

You've only been here two months. How tired could you possibly be?

Go Green! Save Electrons! Make Al Gore Proud!

I agree. It would be nice if titles contained more elaboration. It would make communications more concise thus saving time and electrons.

They are even fun in the posts.

No one is forcing you to click on that post, if if bothers you so much to complain here about it, why did you click on it?

I hear ya, I get tired of it too.

But whats more tiring to me is people complaining about things that don't really matter in the grand scheme of life, and things that will never change anyway.

That is the very same thought I had when I read the OP. I mean really, nobody is forcing anybody to read anything here at DC. We all come here under our own free will.

EW3: "No one is forcing you to click on that post, if if bothers you so much to complain here about it, why did you click on it?"

If you read my original post I don't click on it any longer.

WMHawth: "Seems the problem is solved for you then."

Yes, it is solved for me.

The point is not whether or not it bothers me, whether or not I click on it. I think everyone would be better served if people would be a little more specific in their titles to let us know what their post is about.

You may or may not agree, that is fine. And for those who are going to go back and check the title of posts I have started I'll save you some time

I agree with you. The problem is that some people lack imagination and coming up with a suitable title can be a real stretch for some of them.

It would makes things a bit nicer and help to waste less time but it is what it is.

Leave it to Sixto to boil it down to its salt...LOL

Actually to the OP, some pepople here are new as you are and cant all be creative, and witty, they just want their questions answered. I am "guilty" of using bland titles. Sometimes I make it that way to pique peoples interest to get them to go in and read what I am asking. Sometimes I get creative, and sometimes I get specific. reall you should nt be making people feel bad and self conscious about how they post, they may just stop showing up if we become one of "those" forums.

okay, well enough said on the subject. As I said I was just venting. Didn't pick on anybody in particular. Just thought it would be helpful to others too if the title of posts were more descriptive.

He brings up a valid point and opinion without bashing anyone in particular. I have to agree with him on this, as it is a Net wide nuicense. No one forced you to click reply to his post did they?

Keep in mind that it DOES make it really impossible to use the Search Forum By Titles option when the thread topic is not contained in the thread title.

So if you DO just title your thread: New Gun when you bought a Colt 1911 Government Model

And other members search the forum by thread titles for "Colt 1911"...your particular thread is not going to show in those seach results.
